And... This is one of the reasons I prefer facebook, it's easier to avoid the crap and drama mongers.

Sorry to you girls who don't have facebook, I'll try to get on here more often to post.

Today was our first day back at swimming (after an almost 4 month break), Mae LOVED it, and was absolutely exhausted afterwards.

nothing more to add today original.gif

Aurora Sleeping Your ticker is scaring me!! How can our babies be sooo close to turning one? ffear.gif

Hehe I know Mrs Potato Head!!!!  ffear.gif It scared me when I created it - I was like, 'Hang on, there's a mistake! Oh...no, it actually IS that close!!!!' oomg.gif  Ahhhhhhhh gotta get off my bum and organise the party and invites etc. Anyone got theirs sorted? I'm thinking we'll have a regular kids party in the park across the road from my house (I know, nice and convenient!) just with fun kids party food, etc. Was going to try to get an Elmo suit, cuz I saw a cool one and thought it'd be fun to get one of my brothers to dress up in it and walk around. Trying to decide whether to have a theme - if we do, it will be 'My Favourite Thing'. Anyone else have ideas? Or themes?

My SIL read while she was pregnant and got straight into the routines as soon as her son was born! From what she's told me it does sound interesting, though very strict routines which would just NOT work for me with 5 kids!! LOL biggrin.gif

Yeah I've wondered about future kids! She's got some routine stuff with a newborn and a toddler though, but only skimmed that one as I only have 1 so far!!! The routines are pretty particular, but I'm often late with stuff and by the time they get to this age, they're way more flexible. Just makes my day easier knowing what's coming up next! I loved the settling stuff too...

I am so sore!!! Glad Levi's sleeping a bit longer this arvo, I can't get up off the lounge. Went on an 11km walk yesterday and then walked again today for 50 mins in a desperate attempt to shift more baby weight.  yyawn.gif I think I'm still about 10kgs over my original weight. Still a fair way to go...

Anyway, catch you all soon!  biggrin.gif

1st Birthdays: All I've bought so far are their presents (two cow wheely bugs that just got delivered) and cup cake wrappers. Im going to do a Thing 1 and Thing 2 theme and have it all worked out in my head but not sure how I will go executing it.
Would also love to know what all you other mummas have planned for your little ones up coming 1st birthday! original.gif

Are you fricken serious??????????? If you can't handle what people have to say then why the HELL do you even bother posting such bullsh*te if you are only going to go back and edit your posts leaving a '.' No wonder SOOOOOOO many of us really STRUGGLE with you. In all fairness I do come across very to the point and as a right ass but ALL of your replies have only confirmed that what I said was 100% accurate! Yes I am giving in to your little games and replying JUST the way you want me to so you can come back here and play the woes is me card but seriously get a grip on reality- this is not one occasion you have been like this the whole time you have been here. Unless it revolves around you, you place yourself on this pedestal, I just don't get it! Why you choose to make so many feel so inferior?

WOW, I didn't think my post was going to generate such debate, however it did give this group a rev up and it is great to hear everyone's news.
I did not mean to insinuate that there was some kind of cliqueness or exclusion going on with the fb group, just that it would be nice to hear from them occasionally. I have my own reasons for not joining when I had the opportunity, and still would not join for those reasons (will not fb with anyone I don't know irl).
Carmen's comments were typically OTT and the reason why she has so many username changes and deletes so many posts, she takes everything personally but can't seem to stand by what she posts, hence the deleting. If you don't like it here - don't post but at least have the guts to own what you say.

That said I'll do my personals etc.

Jessa - we do have a nobo in the hall outside his room, its just my lazyness that has him ending up in our bed. Hopefully he'll go back to sleeping through soon. Congrats on your prenancy too, I'm hoping to start ttc after Jack's birthday but haven't talked to DH about that yet.
Can't remember who said eating out of house and home but I can relate. Jack eats anything we give him including olives, raw tomatos and heaps of other stuff I didn't expect. The only thing he won't currently have without a fighht is his bottles. I was wondering has anyone switched to cow's milk? I am so sick wasting money throwing out formula that has hardly been touched.

Anyway heading out for tea so better get organised, here's hoping for friendly, helpful communication from all!

Dani

Dude, that was me, it's crazy - wow olives! I've only just started liking olives in the past couple of years. Maybe I'll try and see if Levi likes them...?

And with the cow's milk - I think I'll wait til Levi's close to one and then start introducing it in small amounts (cereal etc). Pretty sure the recommendation is 12 months for cow's milk. Some people say (read: Tizzie ffear.gif ) that sometimes cow's milk can affect night sleeping, so her suggestion is to introduce it at 14 months rather than 12. I guess if you intro it and night sleeping is fine, you should be right. We'll just see how we go.

Poor Levi - his main 1st Birthday present is the ELC Rocket from the Huggies Promo. (I've got the castle put away in case I have a little girl at some point... or it will make a really great present!!!) Have a few other things too. Just have to keep away from the sales!!!

Anyway, anyone looking for 1st Birthday invites - etsy has some great ones, including Hungry Caterpillar. Just trawling them now....

The recommendations for introducing milk etc has changed, they are saying to introduce everything before 12 months.

Liadan...it amazes me how much everything changes!! Since my first was born nearly 13 years ago it's gone from the start solids at 4 months to No start at 6 months and then back to 4!! Mind you it does seem to make more sense to try things earlier! My Mum was telling me that she gave me runny egg yolk at 3 months cause that was the way, back in the dark ages LOL!! Not sure I'm game for that but I have given Illyana egg from 6 months!

#37 Liadan

Posted 28 July 2011 - 07:43 PM

I know! it's nuts how much things have changed!

I offered Mae a few things between 4mths and 6 months, she was completely uninterested. She didnt start showing an interest in food until around 7 months, and now if i have food, i HAVE to share it with her.

I think it really is just a case of being sensible about it all. I've tried mae on almost all of the high allergen foods and we've had no reactions (as expected).

#38 frogcal

Posted 28 July 2011 - 09:51 PM

I have given Jack cows milk in cereal and froth off my hot chocolate etc but was more insterested if anyone has stopped feeding formula.
As for solids, my paed was happy for us to start at 4 months adjusted so 4 months 3 weeks but Jack was ready well before then, grabbing at food and watching it from plate to mouth. At 6 months he was on 3 meals a day, there is no way he could have waited. Generally I am happy to let him try anything we eat, as long as it isn't too spicy. So he has had eggs, all meats, lots of different fruits and veg, cakes and bikkies biggrin.gif .... Nothing has been rejected so far, and I'm pretty sure he doesn't have any full signal.

#39 deedee70

Posted 28 July 2011 - 10:15 PM

frogcal...still breastfeeding so have only given cows milk in food or with cereal. With the older kids I've given them cows milk when they've weaned off the breast, my eldest did at 12 months, I didnt bother with formula, just cows milk. My others all b/fed longer but also had cows milk if I was out ( dont get out much mind you!) but not til after they turned 1. Which was probably the recommendation, sorry cant remember!
Have you asked your paed their opinion?

Solids...STILL a struggle here, she has just started to take some food from a spoon which is great, but really she just enjoys mushing and playing , oh and throwing, oh joy!!

Still quiet in here, hope everyone wasn't scared off!!

Yeah totally!!! I thought that might happen soon but didn't think it'd be this soon. Levi's been eating solids since 4 months (as per Tizzie's recommendation which went against the recommendation at the time ffear.gif ) and he's been loving it. I'm the same, trying everything slowly. He's had egg and a little bit of peanut butter and all is well so far. Will be slowly introducing milk soon too, so that he can drink it by 12-14 months.

With Levi's party - I kind of have a dress up theme... I've said people can come dressed up as (or dressed in) the favourite thing. It's really just an excuse to get Levi in his Rex costume.  biggrin.gif  And I think we're going to have a Dragon cake! Woo!

Also, this website is where I'm getting the invite design from. It's $15 for someone to custom design it for you and they'll keep customising until you're happy. Then they send you the high res pdf and you can print it anyway you like and have as many copies. Kmart has 9c a copy at the moment so I'll be going there. Anyway, they're really cool, if you're looking for invites. Will probably get my 30th ones from there as well.

http://www.etsy.com/shop/simplystatedcreative

Dani Levi still has 4 BFs a day - we'll cut 2 of them in a month or so and just keep the morning and night ones until... well, I don't know when! Maybe you could reduce each formula feed by half and see how he goes?

Hedda you're doing Things 1 & 2 for their birthday? Are you on Pinterest? SOOOOOOOO much Thing Birthday Party stuff on there it's insane!!!! You should get on just for that!!!!

See you later ladies! waves.gif

We have teeth!!! They both got a tooth each today, I though they were going to get the same one but they have each got a top tooth just H has his right tooth and O has his left, but the other top tooth isnt far behind.

As for cows milk Ive only given it to mine on weetbix, they are still breast fed on demand and have water bottles.

aurora sleeping I am on pinterest, I have a board just for their birthday. I just ordered them some long sleave thing 1 & 2 onsies, red & white striped leg warmers and blue pom pom beanies for their birthday. biggrin.gif

Hey everyone..

missed all the drama.. but do agree with other comments made about OTT reactions..  definately not needed original.gif

Cohan is going great..   still battling food reactions and intolerances - we think he may be gluten intolerant as well..  going to have to bite the bullet and head upto melb to see a specialist i think.. im getting ot the stage where im reluctant to feed him..w hich isnt fair to him!

15 weeks preg today.. its flying.. morning sickness is okay (can i call it nappy sickness? ) i usually only get a bit chucky when DS has a gross nappy.. which is often with his food intolerances - poor DH has had to change a fair few whilst i run around looking for something to spew in hahaha

maternity clothes - went shopping yesterday and bought a few new outfits.. hoepfully ill be feeling sexier soon.. hate this .. fat not pregnant frumpy stage..

Hows everyone else going?

First birthdays - ITS NUTS.. i wasnt going to bother, but then i thought nahhh its an excuse to catch up with friends.. i should pull my finger out and organise some invites..

Whose bubbas are walking/ crawling/ standing ??

Cohans just started crawling..  10 months of age Tounge1.gif  Im not in a huge rush for him to walk.. but now we have to baby proof our old farm house *groan*

xxx kisses and cuddles to all the gorgeous bubs in our group!

I'm looking forward to Mae's first birthday, I know they wont remember it, but it is such a big milestone for them! Their first 12 months "outside".

Mae LOVES to stand, she cant pull herself up yet (she tries), but when I try to sit her down she stiffens her muscles so I cant. No crawling yet, she CAN wiggle around, and roll, but she only does it on my bed and in her cot, she wont do it on the floor (Our floor is quite hard, I'm wondering if that has something to do with it?)

top two teeth through now bottom two almost there .

im loving all the cute baby pics too

Awwwwww thanks for the love girls.  wub.gif  Love my little man.

Crawling - Levi's just started!!! And in the same week he's also started sitting up from being on his belly and can stand holding on with one hand. Felt like it has been a long time coming, but there's no stopping him now!!! Oh no, my beautifully organised bookcase!!!!  oomg2.gif

We have 2 very prominent top teeth and 2 bottom ones. The canines look to be next... have heard they're tough ones.  sad.gif

We're off to Guyra tomorrow to visit some friends who've moved up there to be the Minister at a Church that didn't have one. They are such good friends, it will be so lovely to see them as it's been ages. They're also Levi's Godparents, so it'll be nice for them to see him too.

So - just got the invite for Levi's party designed and it's adorable! Decided to make it dress up (mainly for the kids rather than adults!). The invite says: 'Come as your favourite thing... Especially if it ROARS!' Levi loves roaring so I thought that was apt!!!

Well, going on a long trip in the car with a 10 month old was not as bad as I thought it would be. He only cracked it right at the end on the way back when we hit peak hour. So, that sucked!!!

Ugh also looking into daycare - anyone else got their kids in daycare or about to? Not looking forward to it...  cry1.gif  But you know, if I want to keep living in a house, it has to be done.

The one Levi's going to will have some special needs kids in it who they're wanting to integrate into a mainstream school when they get old enough, and it's a new centre too, so it looks really good. I'm glad he's going to a good centre, just sad cuz I'll miss him and I'm not sure how I'm going to juggle everything.

Hope you're all well!!! Do we have any walkers yet??? (Levi's still crawling but is cruising like a demon!!!!)

Wow, it went quiet in here again, I have been MIA but was really busy juggling work, census work and my boy. Finished all the census work last week thank God, not sure if I'll do it again, I'll wait until the final pays are in and work out if it was worth it or not.

Jack is crawling around at a mad pace now, pulls himself up on everything and walks along all the furniture, can stand by himself for a few seconds when he doesn't realise he isn't hanging on. He has 2 bottom teeth and the two top ones are just under the surface, they have been more of a hassle it seems.

We headed off to Perth for a few days last week to catch up with my parents, I was dreading the flights but both were great and Jack took it all in his stride as usual. On the way over we had a charming young guy sitting next to us, who didn't mind Mr Stickybeak wanting to know what he was doing all the time, and on the way back had a spare seat which was great. I timed both flights for late evening take-off and it worked perfectly, he was awake for take-off then slept almost the entire flight. We are going to NZ later this year so it has put me at ease about flying with him.

AS- I love the pic of Levi too - such beautiful eyes

Jessa - sorry to hear you are still having ms, but at least it is a great way to have DH change more dirty nappies. Are you still using MCN's? I am and find them great, but use a disposible overnight just because of the time factor. I have a bambooty night nappy but it is extra large so haven't had a chance to try it yet.

Birthdays - Jack's is only 3 weeks away, we sat down to make a list but immediate family and a couple of very close friends was 35 people so we stopped there, to go any further would have been 100 and that's just crazy. We have bought a pony with a cart and harness for his gift, have to pick it up next week.

Well I have a week of peace then start a 6 week stint of 25 hr weeks at work to cover my off-sider's holidays. Will only be three days but not looking forward to 6am starts or the condition of my house, but that's life I guess. Hope everyone is well and enjoying their little people...
Dani
