QUOTE
"Got candy in my heels tonight, Big Ben." Not sure what I thought that was all about!

So those aren't the words to the song?  blush.gif

I spent weeks wondering why Maroon 5 was singing "I've got to move my jacket" until my 10 yo niece corrected me. D'oh!! She still gets the giggles about it every time we speak.

Not a song lyric, but nursery rhyme - eenie meenie Minee moe-

Eenie meenie minee moe
Catch a tiger by the toe
If he squeals let him go
Eenie meenie minee moe

I used to think it was :

Eenie meenie minee moe
Catch a hickey by the show
If he squeals, let him go
Eenie meenie minee moe

Strangely my mother never corrected me on this.

I was listening to the radio sometime last year and heard someone call up and ask for "are they married yet" by Pink. It took the radio presenter a few seconds to work out that she meant "Ave maria"

I was chillin' out, maxin', relaxin' all cool,
And all shootin' some people outside of the school..."

Being an abba fan and rugby union follower has its lyric dangers....

6yo asked me one day to play the 'Wallaby song'. Could not work it out so asked her to sing some for me:

"Wallaby, wallaby, wallaby, yeah

Rock me, give me that kick now.."

It used to be "catch a nigger by the toe" - not these days, but probably what your mother grew up with (and me ... now I feel SO old!)

James Reyne "Hammerhead".

I heard :

You've been hanging with the knocky-set people, hammerhead.
Some soup can slip by me while I hang my head.

(Correct lyrics: You've been hanging with the nicest people, hammerhead.  Some silken slip of evil, hammerhead.)

Recently found out it's a song about heroin addiction.

LOL....  I heard :

You've been hanging with the knocky-set people, for a half a mile yehhh.

Not mistaken, but remade by DD12.
Sung to the tune of 'Pumped Up Kicks'

All those kids with the bl**dy nits
Better run to your mum
And get your hair treated.
