If you live nearby perhaps ask to take her out on a shopping spree. My niece loves this and she goes nuts!! Of course I have a limit and she knows that but it is fun just going shop to shop and then we have a cafe lunch/morning tea afterwards. Time with her is gift in itself.
I got my 11 year old niece a dress from Supre for Christmas. Supre is not my kind of store but she and all her friends love it. I found a really nice sun dress for $30. Still age appropriate and pretty!
My 11 year old loves anything to do with craft, sewing, reading, knitting etc. She's also started to show an interest in skin care and makeup. Although, I'd check with the parents if you're considering anything beauty related.
