Does anyone have a nice recipe for a quick dessert/sweet that is cold (doesn't have to be frozen fridge cold is fine)?
Normally if we feel like something sweet I'll make up either a chocolate self saucing pudding or a batch of muffins. They are pretty easy and i usually have everything to make them in the pantry as they're just made from staple backing ingredients. But on hot days I'd love to make something that's not hot.
We don't have an ice cream machine and I do have a no mix ice cream recipe but don't have the condensed milk for it often.
So what else quick and easy can I make from staples in warm weather? I need to stop buying magnums
Chocolate flavour preferred but will consider others

I've recently taken to krispy kremes. OMG they're total rubbish but there's one flavour I can't stop eating. I buy them a dozen at a time and wrap and store them in the freezer. They're delicious with a scoop of vanilla icecream

That choc ripple cake made from biscuits?
Choc mascarpone tart, just biscuit base bp made with scalliwags and butter, let set. A tub of mascarpone, half a thing of cream, or more whipped mix in with the mascarpone and whip some more, dark choc melted, cooled then whip into the cream mix. Fill the tart, top with grated choc and berries or cream etc.
Banana splits with melted choc or nutella, whipped cream, nuts if you like or you could make a caramel sauce.
Jus passion fruit and icecream, yummy, easy.

Fruit. Strawberries macerated with a bit of vanilla and sugar. Bananas cut up in the freezer then blend once frozen to make 'banana ice cream' - you can throw some cocoa in the blender too, or have plain banana with a drizzle of honey on top.
Iced chocolate - ice, milk, cocoa in a blender.

Nigella Lawson's white chocolate and peppermint mousse. Pretty easy to make, takes no time at all to set, and it's so rich and delicious you only need a couple of spoonfuls.
Damn, now I want to make some.

My quick cold and EASY dessert is ...
Fruit puree, layered with a cream & yoghurt mix... and a crushed small meringue (you can buy them in packets from Coles).
A layer of fruit, meringue, yoghurt.cream... then repeat. looks great in a glass, especially when you use berries.

Both can be made well ahead of time. But you will need cream for both.

OMG chocolate mousse, how did I not think of that!! Thanks for the nigella link cardamom
Lots of great ideas thanks, can't wait to try them all!
LOL at the Krispy kremes, I have a soft spot for them too but they are total rubbish so I have to ration myself, this would not happen with a freezer full of them

How about a quick Parfait, I use frozen berries and put them in a saucepan over low heat until; they soften slightly and creates a syrup with them. Then layer in a glass with vanilla icecream berries and whipped cream.
Or if u have pavlova nests break them up and layer with whipped cream and berries. Or anything that takes ur fancy. Would work with bananas, any canned fruit etc

What about a cold creme caramel? You can use sweetened condensed milk rather than cream. So easy and looks impressive.
