Just wondering what time your 9 year olds go to bed? My DD has to be up at 6:30 - 6:45am so what would be a reasonable bed time?

DD8 goes to bed anywhere between 8:30 & 9:30 and does not really have to be up until 8am then get dressed, eat breakfast and walk up to the bus stop at 8:30

Our kids also have to be up by 6.45am. Bedtimes are: 4yr old - 6.30pm, 7yr old - 7pm, 10yr old - 7.30pm and 11 yr old - 8pm. Last year I was mean and all 4 were in bed by 6.30pm, but then they weren't spending any time with their Dad after work so this new routine has worked well.
I guess it depends on how grumpy your 9yr old gets

DD is in bed at 7.30 the latest on school mornings we are up at 6.15 to drive DH to work

Ds gets up around the same time. We aim for in bed by 730 then let him read until 8. Worst case he is asleep by 830.

My 4 kids (almost 2, 4, 6 and 8) all go to bed at 6pm, Saturday nights is 8pm for the older 3. They wake anywhere between 7am and 7.30am

*I* think they still need about 10 hrs sleep at this age.
My DD is 8 & 1/2 & goes to sleep around 8.30pm on school nights, and around 9.30pm on weekends.

My almost 9 year old goes to bed at 8:30pm (asleep by 9). he doesn't get up till 7:30ish though.

My almost 9 year old goes to bed at 8pm and usually wakes about 7am, 5yo DS is in bed at 7pm. That's late enough on a school night, they need their sleep. DD often asks if she can start going to bed later - apparently some of her friends don't go to bed until 9.30pm! - and the answer is "no".

7:30 - 8pm. But it really depends on the child and how well they get up at that time of the morning.
I sometimes send my 2 to bed at that time by Fridays and they are in upper primary.

Mines a year younger than yours and she goes to bed at 8 pm but reads until 8:30. She gets up just before 7am as well.

My 9yo goes to bed around 8:30pm - 9:30pm. We try and have them in bed by 8:30pm on a school night. Usually he gets up of his own accord, anywhere between 6:30am and 7:00am.

DD 8.5 goes to bed anywhere from 7.30-8pm, and reads for 30 minutes or so. She has her own alarm set for 7am, and sedems to do ok. She stays up later on the weekends (one late night, they pick the fri or sat)
DS nearly 7 goes to bed at the same time, but since he was about 2, he has rarely gone to sleep before 9pm. It's like his little body has a built in clock, you could walk in at 9.05pm and he would be asleep, but before that, you are fighting a losing battle. Now, I let him stay in his room, the only rule is I dont want to hear him. So he reads, or plays quietly, then drifts off by 9. Sometimes if he has had a big day, he will go to sleep earlier, but that is rare. Also up at 7 am - or when he hears the porridge finish cooking.

My 7 and almost 9 year olds have a bedtime of 7.30pm on school nights and a little more flexible for weekends and holidays depending on what time sports start and their behavior.

DD1 is 8 and 5 months and goes to bed around 7 and then reads for an hour.
But she never sleeps past 5.30 so the earlier the better for her.
We tried pushing back her bedtime to get her to sleep in but it just doesnt work for her.

DS turns 10 in September.
I like to get him into bed by 8. Most nights he is asleep shortly after that. This is on school nights.
He has to get up no later than 715 to get ready for school, have breakfast and make his bed etc.
He does get to stay up later on weekends, but not too much - probably after a kids movie.
DD is 5, turning 6 in August. She is off to bed by about 730 and needs to be up at the same time as DS. However, Im up at 5 30 am everyday and quite often she is trotting out of her room when Im leaving for work, around 645.

My 9 year old is in bed at about 8pm during the week. She doesn't wake up until 7.30 am in the morning though.

In our house, up until 9 years, bedtime is 7:30-8pm.
Above 9 years, it's 8:30pm (our eldest is 11).

My 2 x 8.5 yr olds are sent to bed at 8pm, but are often still wide awake at 9. We have started letting them read at 8 for about 15 mins and that seems to send them off to sleep sooner. They are up 7 - 7.30am (one voluntarily, the other usually has to be dragged out of bed).

We don't do strict bedtimes in this family as we're a mix of night owls and early birds.
DD (8) needs about 11 hours of sleep a night, so she generally goes to bed (goes to sleep immediately) around 8.30pm and wakes up around 7.30am.
DD (9) needs about 9 - 10 hours of sleep, so he generally goes to bed around 9pm but then (he's a night owl, like me) reads for a couple of hours, til around 10.30pm. He wakes up around 8am on school mornings.

DS1 just turned 9, he goes to bed between 8-8:30pm most nights. He has the occasional later night, up to 9pm on a school night or 9:30pm on weekends/holidays, but then that is balanced out by a night (or two or three, depending on how late he was up) of being in bed with the lights out no later than 8pm.
He wakes up between 6-6:30am most of the time. This is the time he naturally wakes up...I wish he'd learn to sleep in, actually I wish ALL my kids would learn to sleep in LOL

We still read to my nearly 9yo. (will do so until she tells us to stop!), so she is usually in bed not long after 8 and lights out by 8.30.
She normally has to be woken up at 7.20, so I figure she can't stay up any later at this stage...
