My brother and sister in law (to be) are currently living interstate but looking to marry in 2013 on on The Mornington Peninsula.
This makes it a little hard to find the perfect venue or location and so I'm wondering if any EBers have personal recommendations to help them narrow the search?
Thanks in advance x

I recall T'Gallant Winery being very good(I think it has changed name so some googling might be required, not sure if they do weddings now)
If they would consider other areas we originally planned on the peninsula as my husband grew up there but were married at Potter's in Warrandyte, ceremony, reception and wedding night accomodation all in the same venue, it went perfectly and is absolutely stunning. Also just a note to ask about peak and off peak seasons, we planned to marry in September but got it substantially cheaper by going with the end of August instead.

My friend who lives in Mornington is getting married in Port Douglas. Why don't they get married close to home lol.
She happens to be cake decorator so I'm sure she would know venues. So if you are still stuck I can put you in touch with her I'm sure she will know. I have no idea if she is on EB or not!

Check out 'The Baths' in Sorrento, it's right on the beach. Beautiful location.

For how many guests??
I work in the industy as a hair and make up artist - so I have been to a few on the venues down there.
I have had bad reviews of Morningstar - they tend to overbook themselves with several functions on at the same time.
I have been to Max's and the bride later raved about what a great venue it was.
Also had a few brides get married at the Portsea hotel
And the bride I did on Saturday got married here - she had 60 guests Mrs Nicks I have seen some photos and it is alovely looking venue
You may have do some trips down there to check it all out!

I've been to a number of weddings on the Mornington Peninsula, including one just a few weeks ago, and suggest that you/they consider:
Port Phillip Estate
Willow Creek Vineyard

In order of recommendation:
Red Hill estate
Have been to weddings at all three-montalto and red hill have the best food!

I am not an expert on the Mornington Peninsula but I do have a beautiful friend who is a celebrant in the Mornington Peninsula if they are looking for one, I'm sure she could give advice on the best locations in the area too .

All Smiles in Sorrento is lovely and they do alot of weddings there. (DJ Pete does alot of the music there and he is also a co-ordinator for the wedding expo's down there so knows a lot of people in the business)

I was from the area originally and we got married at Delgany in Portsea (which I have just googled and they have turned it into apartments ), so I guess I won't be suggesting that one then LOL!
A school friend had her reception at Lindenderry (Red Hill), that was a few years ago, but very nice. And another school friend attended a wedding last week at Tussie Mussie Vineyard Retreat (Merricks North), and she said it was fab!
There are a lot of nice wineries down that way, and I agree with a pp who suggested Montalto. I haven't been for a wedding, but when I have gone for coffee, there have often been weddings on there (and they have looked lovely) and it is a beautiful location.

Another one for montalto, went to a wedding there. Beautiful venue for ceremony and reception, great food. Others enjoyed the wine, I was up the duff at the time!
