I am preparing our CAP Application and have requested supporting letters from our Speechie/RDI consultant, OT and our ABA consultant. I have also received one from the clinical psych at ASPECT who first saw DS.
I have had some great tips about including last years tax return to provide income, as I have since resigned.
Does anyone else have any tips esp in re the impact statement they could share?
No, we get carers payment, so not eligable, also my boys conditions were all present before or at birth (autism, Ehlers-Danlos, II, ADHD, OCD, Tourettes and various many other diagnosis'es, so all congential and hereditary).
Make sure you spell out every expense that you have that a typical family wouldn't have - nappies, daycare for other children (I have friends who have claimed this), any modifications you have had to make to your house or life, why have you given up work (although I think you covered that). Moving costs if you've had to move etc etc
oh and Cat, we got carer adjustment payment (and so did a few people I know) by claiming that the date of the catastrophic event was the date of diagnosis. In our case Zen's ASD diagnosis at 3yo, we didn't get a great deal compared to everybody else I know who claimed it, but it still came in very handy just before Christmas last year, as DH hadn't been working much with all the issues we'd had with Zen heading into Christmas.
