Does anyone know the legalities to splitting a playgroup?? We have 3 sessions in our community playgroup and 1 has decided to splt from the group to start there own in a different area. What entitlements are they entitled too in regards to current money in account, toys and craft??
Any information would be grateful. Thanks

Is the current Playgroup overseen by a committee? If so, there may be information in the constitution regarding this. The other place you could seek advice is your state's Playgroup Association. When I used to work for a Playgroup Association, Playgroups needed to be affiliated with us, which they normally did for insurance purposes.
My guess is that monies already paid would be for the established Playgroup only, and that it woudn't be fair that the costs of a secondary/spin off group fall onto the established group. However, that would be assuming money is paid weekly, rather than upfront for an entire year.
Hope that helps, and good luck
