So I checked my warranty, great still a couple more months to go, jumped onto live web chat with Amazon Kindle Services.
I explained what the damage was and that the Kindle lives in a padded case, they asked me if it had been dropped or any direct pressure put on it, I advised no, not at all.
Guess what.... I have a brand new Kindle arriving next week. They are sending me out a free replacement, and paying for shipping for me to return the damaged Kindle back to them.
All resolved in under 15 minutes, without having to make a single phone call.
Just thought I'd share that Amazon are awesome to deal with and I did not purchase the Kindle from Amazon. If only all retailers were this great and easy to deal with.
