Ok, the 10 week challenge finishes this weekend, so I want to start a two month winter challenge starting July 1 to enter Spring without those extra winter kilos and with a few extra off too!
If you are in, post your goal loss for 8 weeks, and your diet and fitness plan for getting there. We'll post our losses each week and hopefully encourage each other on.
I'll come back and post on 1 July, when I know how much left I have got.

OMG this is perfect timing for me - haven't been on the board for ages and wanted to get some motivation
I want to lose 8kgs in the 8weeks (I have heaps to lose though). Just started at the gym yesterday and managed 6kms on the bike and 2km on the treadmill (walking). So my fitness goal is to improve on this benchmark each time - I plan to get to the gym 4-5 times a week. I want to take a few classes to but am always scared too but I will challenge myself! Diet wise I just want to make healthier choices and not snack at night (my danger zone).
Looking forward to starting this challenge with you all!

I am definately in, would like to lose 8 kilos!
I am trying to do up to an hour a day on my treadmill!
I've cut down my food portions and reduced my carbs,
I've also put my fitness pal on my iPhone as it helps keep me motivated!
Will weigh in on sundays!

I'm thinking that if I"m under 55kg then I'd actually just be happy to maintain for the rest of winter. A loss would be a bonus.
I won't know til the weekend what my weight is though.
I am planning a yoga/tracy anderson rotation for exercsie. Plus walking for cardio.
Food wise I'm thinking low starchy carb, high fat med protein, with a couple of pieces of fruit a day. Like a fake paleo - I couldn't give up dairy or all the grains, but I'm happy to cut down on them.
One white coffee, three white teas a day. Herbal tea for other drinks. Turmeric and milk at night (for my arthritis).
Lots of soups for dinners and stews and stuff.

I have been thinking I need to lose some weight, and spring/ summer seems so close.
I would like to lose 5kg in 8 weeks.
I am going to start with little steps. 1) Stop drinking anything that is not water. 2) eat a healthy breakfast 3)on the days I don't work I am going to take the dog for a walk. 4) I am going to try and reduce my portion sizes.
After 2-3 weeks of doing these I am going to add some new goals to it.
Looking forward to doing this with everyone.

Yes, I Need some motivation to get me through the next two months and rough Melbourne Winter! Once September hits, everything seems okay again.
I'll be aiming for 4 kilos....I just want to get under 60 and I'll be more than thrilled!

Count me in!
I need to loose about 5kg. I plan to exercise for 30mins most days, look at portion sizes and cut out my wine.
Posted 27 June 2012 - 07:27 AM

i'm starting a no sugar challenge on july 1st as well so that should help too

Count me in. I started the weight watchers online 2 week free trial last week, so the timing is perfect. My goal weight is 65kg. so I have 7kg to move.
Posted 27 June 2012 - 07:54 AM
Ok. I'll have a think about my goals and post back later.

I'm in. I started out a few weeks ago, and have been doing ok. Would love to have some buddies to keep up the motivation. (I'm in Melbourne and it is hard to keep motivated in the cold!)
I've got 4-5 kgs to lose in 8 weeks.
I've just started doing boot camp 2 times per week. It is at 6am, but thankfully indoors! I also aim to do a jog on the weekend, plus trying to fit in a short walk on 3 of my rest days. I'm using MyFitnessPal to roughly track calories. I'm usually good on the weekdays, but weekends are my downfall. (Either a drink or 2, and/or eating out.)
Posted 27 June 2012 - 11:31 AM
Count me in too!
I have been on a "lifestyle change" since February and have lost 25 kilos but would love extra motivation, altogether I want to lose another 20 kilos by November so I'd like to get 8 kilos off in the 8 week challenge.
I use myfitnesspal and exercise most days with either gym classes, walks with the pram or exercise DVDs but cold weather makes me feel so much more lazy.
So my goal is to keep up the calorie tracking, more water, exercise atleast 5 days per week and eat breakfast.
I weigh in in Monday mornings

I'm in Melbourne, but not really into boot camp. I was reading about people who just do walking and yoga and are in much better health than the joggers and hard core people.
Then last night there was this reality weight loss show on (about midnight to give you an idea of the quality) but anyway, they were saying how these days we bully our body into fat loss with all our running and intense workouts whereas in Victorian times they would coax it into better health - same as what yoga has been doing for thousands of years.
So anyway, I'm doing low intensity for the time being, although I'm not sure that charging up our hill pushing a pram with a kid or two on it, trying to make it to school on time is considered low intensity. LOL.
I like zumba though. Where abouts in Melbourne are you? I'm in SE subs.

I am 100% in. I was starting fresh today as it is the 27th and my birthday is August 27th. But the last two months of winter is a great goal.
I hsd lost 15kgs earlier this year but have gained around 3kgs back. I started at 84.8kgs and I'm currently 73.8kgs. My goal is 64.8kgs because that would be a total loss of 20kgs and has my in the middle of a healthy weight range.
I am going back to entering everything in My Fitness Pal, menu planning, and will start back at the gym. I am also going to see a counsellor and talk about my eating issues. I found out yesterday that my iron levels were really low so I think that is one of the reasons I have been struggling and I will be having iron injections. I am hoping that helps with the energy levels and the gym won't be such a struggle.

I don't post much on EB but I'd love to join in to get some extra motivation.
My goal has been to get back to my weight before two babies, 55kgs! So, I've got about 4kgs to lose, although ultimately I'd love to lose 8 but I'll be happy with 4.
I am also using My Fitness Pal so I plan to make more effort with that, watching my calories closely. I'd like to try and make a move towards 'clean eating' and cutting out all the processed crap I tend to eat. Also need to remind myself to drink more water!
Exercise wise, I generally make 3-4 classes at gym each week so I want to keep that up and maybe add an extra one here and there. My off days is what I really need to work on though, when I'm not going to the gym I want to do ATLEAST 20mins of cardio and 20 mins of weights each day. I get a bit slack on the exercise when I'm not at gym though.
Good luck everyone!

I would love to join.
My aim is to lose 5kg in the 8 weeks.
I plan to get back on myfitnesspal, & count the calories. I will continue with 2 Pilates sessions a week, but hope to up my walking to 1hr 5 times a week.
For me the snacks are the killer. I single handedly disposed of a family block of Cadbury peppermint choc last night!!! (eek)
Looking forward to some accountability!

I am definitely in! My gym membership has expired, so I am not sure exactly what I weigh at this stage. Let's say 'heavy'.. Somewhere between 80 and 90kgs.
I have a long work day, and can't exercise in my neighborhood when it's dark, so struggle to find affordable, convenient exercise options. I think there is a bikram yoga place with late night classes a few times a week, and just need to force myself out of the house on the weekends too! So yoga and jogging / C5K.
My food intake isn't to concerning - though I am going to focus on reducing gluten and sugar, as a health experiment.
Goal? 5kgs loss and regularly exercising by end August.

I would love to join too. I have a goal of 6kg in 8 weeks, then I will be at my goal weight
I will be starting tomorrow (as soon as I do the grocery shopping) and just cutting out the crap habits I seemed to pick up during the uni semester. I will start going to the gym again, 4-5 times a week. I would love to improve my running as well, so will be working on that too.
Time to get serious!
Posted 27 June 2012 - 02:04 PM
I want to lose at least 5 kilos in the 8 weeks.
I plan to jog at least three times a week for at least half hour.
I need to give up my weeknight glass of wine and limit it to weekends only.
I plan to just eat healthy foods and watch my portion sizes, however I'm borrowing the BodyTrim program from Mum tomorrow and if I think it's something I would like to try, I might give it a go. Will keep you posted.

Count me in
For this challenge I am going to aim for 8kgs in 8 weeks, but to reach my goal weight I need to lose another 10kgs on top of that. Would love to reach my goal weight by Christmas.
I will be starting off with some small lifestyle changes
1) Eating breakfast every morning - something high protein.
2) No soft drinks - only water or tea. Don't drink alcohol so that is easy to cut out
3) Stop snacking after dinner. Bad uni study habits!!!
4) Increase my water intake.
5) Reduce portion size.
As for exercise, well with 3 kids I am definately not sitting down all day so will be doing lots of incidental exercising. I have the kids trampoline to jump on and will aim to also fit in long walks when I can. I know for me diet is my biggest issue so need to address that first.

Ohh me please!!
My goal is to lose 8kg
I really need to get back on track after falling off the wagon big time!! Winter is so hard and it also does not help that my husbands work hours are all over the place!! I had a great routine in place where I dropped the older kids at school and then went straight to the gym where my twins would go in the creche and I would work out a storm, it worked well for me and I lost a lot of weight. Now with my hubby working nights, afternoons, weekends, pretty much anything except a normal 9-5 and my routine being thrown completely out the window I am really stuggling!! But I know that I just need to get myself sorted and just get on with it!! No excuses!!
I did actually join the Michelle Bridges 12wbt but we are up to week 4 and I have hardly lost anything and pretty much done no exercise for the last 3 weeks
So my plans are:
Organise my meal plan (and stick to it)
Put all my exercise sessions in my Diary (and actually go to the gym)
Drink more water
No more after dinner snacking (my biggest problem)
This WILL be the kickstart I need to get back on track
Posted 27 June 2012 - 02:51 PM
I'm in my goal is 5 kg (have heaps more than that to lose but trying to be realistic.) We have been healthy eating for some time now so will stick to that and I am getting back into the c25k as soon as this horrible flu leaves my body (been 2.5 weeks now) plus using the home weight equipment every non run day.

A couple of Melbourne girls in here who need some motivation from the cold! I live in inner SE. Am doing my bootcamp in St Kilda. It is not too bootcampy - more like group personal training. I am loving having my exercise done before the day has started. I have never been a morning exerciser, but am loving it. Also means DH looks after the kids. I guess pre-paying to do the sessions gives me that motivation to get out of bed!
I started doing C25K a couple of months ago, but stopped. I'm thinking of starting it again. I really surprised myself last weekend and nearly jogged around Albert Park Lake. (About 2/3 of the way around I walked for 5 mins.) I'm thinking of working out roughly where that puts me for C25K and starting again from there. I would love to be able to jog from my place all around the lake (just over 5K) by the end of August too.

This is JUST what I need....
I really need to lose more than this but I will aim to lose 5kg in 8 weeks.
- Cut out takeaway on weekends
- 30min walk at least three times a week
- Reduce portion sizes
- No second helpings
- Stop buying coles iced donuts
I used to be in a running club and quite the gym junkie but the weight has crept on and on and on over the past 3 years and now post-baby I just feel pretty despondent and not confident that I will ever be able to stop the weight gain trend. I think I need to get some self control back in my diet and that will help tremendously. I'm just about to finish breastfeeding so I won't have that excuse anymore to eat more than DH then go back for seconds
DH is buying me a treadmill for my upcoming birthday so this is all perfect timing!

I am in!
I was 87 and got down to 72 (yay) using very low carb diet. then snuck back up to 76. Now at 75.
I was doing C25K and up to week 5 ( don't' ask how long it take me to get there, it does have a 5 in it) but my husband is away for the next two weeks, I have three kids and work full time so I am not going to be able to run or do any exercise much.
Back on the low carb diet for a few days which is going pretty well.
I use calorie king which is great.
My downfalls are portion size and WINE
I would love to lose 8kg in the 8 weeks, and i can if i stay on the hard core no carb thing (sigh).
Wow, 67, how COOL would that be! That would be 20 kg in total.
But anything starting with a 6 would be great
