We had a little baby boy at 8pm last night. A tiny but perfect little person -with threadlike fingers and toes the size of pinheads.
Don't get me wrong, it was a horrible day, but in the end I am actually glad that it happened the way it did (after all my whining). Having seen the body, I feel some closure and even some of the satisfaction and joy of giving birth to a live baby. As much as I wished for him to be no more than a surgical procedure and then an indistinguishable lump of flesh, it turns out that a baby is better. We named him Eden for his birth registration, but he is still Baby to me.
And the hospital staff treated me wonderfully. And even better, they treated the baby with dignity and respect.
Time to start rebuilding now.
Thank you everyone for your amazing support. Thank you to those of you who have written me PMs. I will reply to them in time.

What a lovely name for him. I've been thinking of you and I'm glad you managed to get that bit of closure after the turmoil of the last few days. Take care of yourself.

Oh my goodness, Jen. Bless you, your darling Eden and family.
I don't get on EB very often but was lurking in old territory and came across your thread. I am so sorry for your loss and all the heartache over the last week or so.
May Eden rest peacefully and always watch over you, DH, DS and DD.
Wishing you gentle times ahead.
