DS (16 months) loves his stories and we read at least 3 before every nap/sleep. As a result we need a bit more variety and would love to know what your toddler's favourite stories are. In DS's collection are:
the Spot books, by Eric Hill
The Gruffalo and Stickman by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler (he loves the pictures and the rhyming and silly voices I do)
Where's My Teddy? by Jez Arlborough
Peepo by Janet and Allen Ahlberg
The Owl and the Pussycat by Edward Lear, illustrated by Anne Mortimer (beautiful and detailed illustrations)
I Wish That I Had Duck Feet by Dr Seuss
Dear Zoo and Oh Dear! by Rod Campbell
Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See? slide book, The Very Busy Spider and The Very Hungry Caterpillar all by Eric Carle
Mr McGee, Mr McGee Goes To See and Mr McGee and the Big Bag of Bread by Pamela Allen
Pip And Posy The Red Balloon by Axel Scheffler
Teddy Bear's Picnic
Unpoppable by Tim Hopgood
Ten Little Fingers and Ten Little Toes by Mem Fox and Helen Oxenbury
various pop-up books
nursery rhyme books
That's Not My .... books - but they're a bit boring for him now

He would probably love the Hairy McClary series! Those books are DDs fave.

The very Cranky Bear... I actually tell them the story on the way to work now, I know it all off by heart. My DS (4) can also read it by memory haha....
We have 4 books at bedtime but this one just comes up more often, which is ok because even I enjoy it

Any other Julia Donaldson (the Snail and the Whale, Room on the Broom, Zog).
Any Giles Andreae (Commotion in the Ocean etc) - we especially love the ones that come with cd read by Hugh Laruie.
Also love the Margaret Mayo books Dig Dig Digging etc and the series by Tony Mitton and Ant Parker "Aeroplanes are Amazing" etc.
Both my kids love Charlie and Lola books at the moment too. We go to the library a lot!

I've not got the Belly Button Book (can't find it here) but we've got 10 Sandra Boynton board books and LOVE them. Maybe 12 books...
I've got 4 Julia Donaldson books written with Axel Schaffer(sp?) which are lift the flap books, those are great.

I second PP's suggestion of the belly button book. Sandra Boynton's books are popular here - Moo Baa La La La is another fun one

Going on a Bear Hunt,
The Bear's Picnic
Each Peach Pear Plum
Lion in the Night (P Allen)
Who Sank the Boat
V Hungry Caterpillar
He also has some in Turkish (including Room on the Broom) which are firm favourites, so it keeps the rotation fresh.
