Would you recommend it?

I've been offered the chance to do it where we go to supported playgroup. The therapists can see he has come along so far since Christmas, he's really rocketing along, but think I might get something out of it.
DS is doing well with naming things, action words, even two word sentences but only putting an "a" in front, a car, a dog, a cat etc.

I know it involves videoing interactions and then watching them back to see the difference between what you think you're doing and what you are doing, but I was after experiences.

TIA.

I did 8 years ago. Probably the most useful strategies I have ever been taught for helping DS who has severe ASD. The techniques become second nature and we still use them on a daily basis.

They were also great for helping siblings when they were learning to talk.

My husband started it 2 weeks ago, and is loving it. I've heard tons of positive feedback about the course, both from previous attendees and from some of the Speech Therapists we have seen lately. We're already starting to see results with our DS.

I have done it when DS was around two and it made an amazing difference.

My speechies used strategies and handouts from ITTTT in the first few months of Daniel's therapy. We didn't do the video thing, they just had me and Daniel playing with things, and coached me on behaviours and strategies.

It was marvellous. I learned heaps, Daniel came on in leaps and bounds. I would always recommend Hanen stuff, it's excellent.

I did More Than Words which is part of the Hanen program. It was great. It taught DH and I how to communicate better with DS so he in turn learnt how to communicate better with us. A lot of the strategies can be used with any child, not just those with ASD. I did it 18 months ago and it still helps us with DS, and other kids too.
