A) The Army boys just seem like such nice lads

B) Carla is a wench. I'll be sure if I ever see you fall over I'm there grinning with glee like the Cheshire Cat.

C) Thomas, brother of Malfoy - You cannot cook. You are a silly, little boy. I can't even imagine how heinus you would have been at school.

D) Manu, that picture of you was cute, not uggo, you French dish, you.

C) Pete, time to change up the grey suits.

Well done to Emma & Andrew. cclap.gif Loved Emmas comment at the end about learning from their mistakes unlike 'those who shall not be named' venom & evilness!!

Apparently they are having a whinge in the paper today, complaining about the editing making them look so mean. yeah, cos the editors joined up all the words to make you say the food was horrible and score it low. oooookay. lol

Thanks for posting the link Chocolate Addict, some of the comments below were hilarious. Especially like this one...

The ‘wouldn’t feed it to my cat’, the snidey sniggers weren’t editing so give us a break. Sure, editing can play a part but you have to provide the material in the first place.

If they feed any of that cheesecake to the cat, I’m calling the RSPCA.

They defend themselves in this article, too.

Carla:
QUOTE
Mangion defended their menu to AAA, saying that it was difficult preparing the meal since they discovered what they were cooking only the night before.

"We don't really choose the menu that we cook," she said.

However, a Seven spokesperson says:
QUOTE
Responding to Mangion's claims, a Seven spokeswoman said the contestants submitted their own menu ideas - consisting of their favourite and much-loved recipes - ahead of filming and, from those ideas, a finalised menu was confirmed the night before filming.

Which just proves what we've all said, surely you would choose dishes you know how to cook and ones you do well?! Rather than serving soap-tasting cheesecake?

I also thought this was interesting:
QUOTE
While they have presented themselves as "just friends", Carr revealed there had been some romantic history.

"No, currently we are not together. We have made the decision that anything that has happened previously, we are keeping between her and I."

It looked like Pete was really upset that they had cooked badly and when he said "it's a shame because you can really cook" it was like a dig at Thomas and Carla

The logical side me knows it's the editing but I can't stand him.

It's not editing because those words actually come / came out of their mouths in the first place! If you dont' say it, it can't be put in the show can it?

Also, one of the army blokes made the point that he was sick of hearing the negativity from them and no longer bothered to even listen to what Thomas and Carla say becuase it was annoying.

And I agree too, in every series, I'm gobsmacked at how many of them seem to make things they haven't made before or haven't attempted to make for 12 people before ddoh.gif

To me that just seems completely stupid! When / if you were deciding to go on the show, wouldn't you TRY every recipe submitted first? Get friends over and cater for 12 and see just what it's lke makeing "duck a la king" for 12 people rather then your usual 4??

Seems to me, that SO many of the couples seem to have no idea of time management differences between catering for 12 and catering for 4....they are smart people, don't they realise that even plating up meals for 12 not 4 or 6 will take a LOT of extra time + if you have to have each plate PERFECT, you have to allow for that too + nerves because you are being filmed etc etc etc??

some of them seem quite clueless in the practicality stakes to me ddoh.gif

Then again, I took a job at 21 yrs of age cooking on a cattle station for 9-40 people on any day...so I guess "numbers cooking" and thinking about how to cater for more then a few is second nature to me in this regard. It's NEVER just as easy as doing "double or triple" - many recipes can't just be tripled or quadrupled and come out the same, sometimes, you HAVE to make 4 lots of 4 to have it work out right, esp when you're talking things that need to have air put in them and so on, like special pastries etc.

I'm no fancy cook, but i can cook quite well when i put my mind to it and one thing I DO know how to do in a kitchen is time manage...ONE person can't cook 3 meals + morning and afternoon tea for 30 people for many days in a row....if you can't time manage well, you're stuffed ohmy.gif and no cattle station workers are going to wait an hour or two for meal, meals have to be ready ON TIME, ALWAYS and be good to eat and presentable.

WEll, mine were anyway and 20 yrs + later, plenty of people I knew then tell me I am still the best station cook they ever came across tthumbs.gif

I keep on hoping that there is a shock twist and only the judges scores will count.

Yes, me too!!

I can't stand the way this series has become like Survivor or Big Brother...I have always like MKR becuase it was about real people, cooking real food and NOT all about stategy and competition really, but about solid performance in making good food.

If it continues down this path of being constant bleating on about strategy and b**chy and voting to win rather then about the food and nice people...then I will switch off. I'm giving it one more week and then I'll be jack if once the first couple goes, it continues along this nasty, ill-mannered path.
