Libraries - the medicine chest of the soul.
Has anyone else been enjoying this series on Foxtel's Lifestyle Channel like me?

In episode 2 Phil was actually in my own suburb in Adelaide finding a house for the newly arrived English family -and yes my suburb is full of English migrants -I'm married to one -albeit he came out 17 years ago!

Did anyone else feel like slapping last night's couple who were ultra-critical and in the end never bought a thing in the exclusive Gold Coast suburbs with their $1million+ budget!!!!! Saying they were too small -ahem! And the house right on the waterfront -with the boat launch -wtf was wrong with that??!!! Just made me want to slap the tossers -why is it people with money want to flaunt it and have a house with a "wow" factor. I thought Phil showed them many houses with wow factors -oh well!!!!

You like things.
LOVE this show. And any show similar to it. I also love those BoysTown catalogues for the same reasons. Floor plans! *sigh*

It's annoying how they put the Aussie dollars into pounds (for the British viewers) but not vice versa when referencing a British property price. My brain involuntarily suspends my enjoyment of the show as it tries to figure out what pounds translates to. tongue.gif

I love him too (and Kirsty).

Yes last nights couple were shockers. I said to DH about half way through that I bet they wouldn't buy anything in the end and they proved me right.

Seriously with the amount of money they wanted to spend, and with the 'exclusivity' they wanted from their new digs, they should have just bought a suburb of their own and built their own McMansion. Tossers, both of them...

I just finished watching that episode as I taped it from last night. I couldn't understand why they needed something so big when they only had 2 kids. I think our house is big, probably a bit bigger than what we need with 2 kids & another on the way but it still wasn't as big as that 1st cheaper house they saw. If it was me I would have chosen the 2nd house with the hot tub & that amazing bar area. It was under their budget so they could have changed anything they didn't like about it.

Love this show and agree with everything said - I think Phil is extremely patient having to deal his 'clients' who are almost all pains in the a$$!

I agree, but at the same time the shows are made for England not Australia but foxtel could always edit prices in I guess. Tounge1.gif

With conversion for UK I usually times it by 2 and add a bit! lol Though with the dollar being so good I think my guessing is a bit out. laugh.gif

Me, too! I tend to pick apart the floor plans though as they never suit my ideas, lol!

I've always converted 'double and a bit', too as that's what it used to be!

I haven't watched last nights show yet, I've been recording them to watch during the day while stuck to the couch breastfeeding. Mum's here this week though so I'll have to watch it next week. I'm looking forward to seeing what they're like now!
