My 2.5yr DD has been great with her TT. She always told us when she needed to go, and we never had accidents. I have noticed the last week that she has been having accidents almosy daily. She won't tell us anymore that she has to go, when she does say toilet, we take her and she has already wet her pants, if I take her to sit on the toilet as she hasn't been for a while she cries and refuses to sit, but once on there she finds she really does need to go.

Is this a pattern she is going through?
Any ideas/suggestions

TIA

Has she had any bad experiences on the toilet recently? My friends DD refuses to use the toilet after she had to "hold on" in the car and only just made it to the loo in time...she then burst into tears and now says "no Mummy, I cry on the toilet" but will use the potty just fine.

Is she upset when she has accidents? Cute knickers can be an incentive...e.g. Time for a wee, you don't want to wet Dora the Explorer (or Dorothy the Dinosaur etc.)

If there is a new baby around (even at day care) she may be just be copying...my DD has started using the teets from her bottles as dummies! even though she never had one before.

My only real suggestion is to use bribes. These have worked an absolute treat for out anti-potty toddler. The trick was finding something very small (so we didn't have to worry about handing one out each time she tried)and also finding something that she REALLY liked and would do anything just to get one.

Good luck,
Lizzie
