So I am turning 35 next month.

But my problem is that over the past 2 or so months by 'beauty products' which have served me well for years seem to have stopped working. I am going through like a second adolecsence in terms of my face and hair and it is horrible!

Has anyone else experienced this?

I use Jurlique face wash daily either the: age-defying exfoliator or the Balancing cleansing lotion. Sometimes one of the masks too.

Other then that I clean my make-up off with a wipe thingy and use Nivea soft moisturiser. I have been doing this for years.

But I am having major pimple breakouts for the past couple of months. MAJOR.

Before I still got the odd pimple I dont know that I have ever been lucky enough to be pimple free completly - but at the moment it is like I am a teenager again! And they are on my nect and chest and in my hair. It is driving me crazy.

What is going on??? Does anyone know?

Not only that but I have used Joyco shampoo and conditioner on my hair for years and again for the past couple of months my hair has been sooo crappy. It is so knotty that it is like I did not put conditioner on (even though I did) and it just looks bad and is unworkable.

I dont understand what is happening to me. But I feel like it has something to do with turning 35.

Am I crazy? or has this happened to other people? Does anyone have some recomendations for me?

This happens to me regularly but it's all to do with hormones. Have you been having other symptoms?

I have to have a collection that I change up. But mostly it's related to my hormones.

well... for a number of reasons I dont have my period anymore. This has been for a while (about a year) but the last couple of months I swear I had PMS (so does my husband) ph34r.gif

Maybe I am having a hormone imbalance.

I might just try to ride it out and change up my products. The thing is that since they are good quality (yet affordable) products I kind of dont know where to go?

They were working so well.

What would people recomend? Thanks for the help

I use Paula's Choice products.

http://www.paulaschoice.com.au/

Like PP said hormones can have major impact on your skin. I had major breakout on my chest and back when I first got my Implanon in, but 6m later that has mostly settled down. I also had major breakout when I first went off the pill TTC (and for first 3m of that PG).

There is a thing as adult acne.

Also, if you use the same shampoo all the time, it builds up and stops working.

I really recommend doing lots of reading on www.beautypedia.com on what products work and how (you will be suprised to read that Jourlique is not that great at all), and then I recommend following recommendations and buying the owner of beautypedia's own brand - Paula's Choice.

It was transformational for me, my skin is like porcelain. I got a few girlfriends onto it, and I've seen vast improvements.

I INSIST you try Paula's Choice! But first read what Paula says about cosmetics.

They are really affordable too.

In Chinese medicine, your body has a major change every seven years, so it could just be your body adjusting itself? I'd try organic products like Gaia or miessence in the meantime:)

Well if you are anything like me you are probably a hormonal mess at 35.

Pregnancy, breastfeeding, contraceptive changes and the slide to perimenopause makes your 30s a time of hormonal upheaval.

Clarifying shampoo and conditioning treatments might help the hair situation. A few professional peels might help with the skin.
