... back on the bandwagon ...
If you are going to do it at your DDs birthday party then you need to make it about her becoming a big sister really. Let her do the announcing - that'd be cute! original.gif

I know someone that let their older child tell everyone just before she cut the cut. She's a a bit of a drama queen and stood on the table, hands on hips and announced that she was going to be a big sister.

SIL did this with baby #3 - she told her just-turned-5yo before he cut the cake, then got him to announce it.
2 is a bit young for that though... I like the t-shirt idea, that's how DD & I told DH about this baby original.gif

Thanks for the suggestions everyone.

Would love it if dd could 'announce' it but she is still at single words and two so don't think it's possible. Maybe could teach her to say 'baby' while pointing at my tummy - then again that won't work either.

Will have a look at getting a t-shirt made up, DH wan't really into the idea but I think it is cute.

If not then announcing while taking a photo is a good idea. Decisions decisions.........

I'd do this, if I were you.

We had DD#1 announce that there was a "Baby in Mummy's tummy" when I was pregnant with DD#2. We'd been coaching her to tell Grandma at Christmas. She did great, except she told them all mid-Christmas Eve church service. original.gif Pretty funny. All the whispering and the "Did she just say what we think she said?" original.gif

Congrats. I hope everyone is thrilled for you, however you tell them original.gif

Love the tshirt idea! I announced my pregnancy at my daughter's second birthday party - it was just a family gathering. When we were doing the cake, I just did a bit of a thanks everyone for coming etc. and said that as well as turning 2, P also was going to be a big sister...and of course I was all hormonal and teary and burst out crying and could hardly get the words out LOL blush.gif T-shirt is a much better idea
