HI Everyone!! Im new to this forum but have looked through most of the posts. seems like a great place to talk to people in the same situation feeling the same things.

So i am in my 16th week and pretty excited it was funny how bub came along my hubby went overseas in Feb and we thought it was not our time Then on a trip to a fertility Dr i found out i was infact pregnant! i was so excited but i did have to tell hubby via email. it was an interesting start as had spotting a few times and hubby was away but he got home a few days before my 12 week scan and everything was great! i have 3 more weeks till 19 week scan and cant wait!!

The morning sickness has eased and i dont feel so so tired just a little tired but i am starting to enjoy food hahah!!

I hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Mikkie Xxx

Hi ladies,

Got my second set of results back from the CVS. The are all clear. The Dr who called (not the one who did the scan) said that was good. I am still confused as to how the two tests from the same sample can give different results and why. I have done some more research on Dr google (naughty me blink.gif ) and am feeling a bit more confident now - according to a paper I found the risk is now 2.4%. I think I have decided that if I have another ultrsound and have all the soft markers measured again and they are all good and the Ob is confident then I wont have the amnio.

Partly I just a bit impatient to tell every one and work etc (and my clothes nearly dont fit - it will start becoming obvious very soon). secondly I think I need to stop being paranoid and trust the drs and I dont want to further increase my risk by having further testing. Hopefully I can get a scan next week - I dont want to wait til 16 weeks if I am not doing further testing.

Anyway hopefully it is all good news from now on - for everyone!!!

Haven't posted in here for ages! Every time I read I think of all these replies to personals I want to donut then I don't do it.

CPM that's awesome news on your results. Shouldn't a CVS be pretty conclusive? Ie I thought you only needed that OR and amnio, that not always the case??

Emnut - that totally sucks on your so called friends I can imagine how awful that would make you feel. Any idea what triggered the behavior??

Ang - those were awesome odds you must be stoked??

10to10 scary stuff I am glad you're ok. And more to the point is DH (seeing as he ended up being the injured party??)

Bulafiji hope all the bleeding stopped? Sounds like a horrible visit that you had!!

That's as far back as I am going. I can't believe I haven't written in that long even though I do read daily.

Nothing much to report from me. Had a lovely pregnancy massage yesterday. So at 15 weeks last week I already started getting a sore back (no more picking up DD) and swelling of the feet and ankles!!! I hate the swelling and I got it at 20 weeks onwards with DD :-( . I am 16 weeks tomorrow and not gowing back for my next appt till 17w 1d. I will also be fully weaned off the progesterone by Wed.

Franno -I am the 1% where the CVS is not conclusive.

Emnut - I know its easy to say these people are not worth your energy, but it still hurts. I remember your posts from before. I can understand, its sad that I am partly glad that I will be finishing work in 5 months, so that I wont have to be around certain people. Since I got married people who I thought were my friends just stopped inviting me to stuff, yes I have a husband now and other family commitments and somtimes cant come, but the least you can do is invite me. One certain person who I used to be close to and have been on overseas hoildays with told me when I got engaged "you shouldnt bother getting married becuase theres 50% chance you'll get divorced any way" and is usually just plain negative - I am just waitng for what rude comments she says when I tell her i'm pregnant. I am worried about becoming more isolated once I have kids, but am looking forward to not putting up with the negativity. so big hugs bbighug.gif

AFM not much happening here - made an appt with y boss to tell him on monday, hopefully that goes well.

Franno I am sure I do the same, read but don't reply and then end up thinking yikes, no way can I reply to all those. I do read though, I swear!!!

Chief Pancake Maker that must be a huge albeit confusing relief, very very pleased for you!

Franno, I am not looking forward to the swelling. So far so good, but swelling is notorious in my family for long distance travel, flying and other things so I am pretty sure I will cop it in pregnancy too!

Welcome mikkie.S! Isn't it nice when the sickeness eases and you no longer think about lying down 23 hours of the day! Great pregnancy story by the way, you just never never when lol!

Oh emnut, that really bites sad.gif We had a bullying Professional Development session the other day at work and although it was mainly about students it was amazing how much stuff is relevant to adults. It is really sad when so called grown ups are playing the same manipulative games they were playing when they were 8. Mostly it is to do with jealousy and insecurity so take comfort in knowing you have done absolutely nothing wrong and are pretty darn awesome to be provoking such an immature response from them.

Melmatho best of luck if you do need to move, I am moving soon myself and really not looking forward to it though I have far less to uproot. Good luck with it

AFM all is pretty good thoug I have been unwell with a cough that I can't seem to shake sad.gif Fingers crossed lots of rest this morning will help because it is going to be madness at work for the next three weeks with report writing *SIGH AND YAWN* Bring on my 20 week scan and trip to Bali!

*Chief Pancake Maker* Congrats on your results !! That must be a bit of a relief for you. Did you manage to book another ultrasound to ease those last niggles? Just so happy for you x

*CentralCoastMum2B* Good luck for your results today too.

Hi to everyone else and welcome to our newbies waves.gif

I just had to change my next U/S appointment to the following week as my DH will be travelling away for work in the week we were supposed to have it ... ggrrrr. It's now Monday 25th June. 4 weeks and counting.

We just moved to the area in late March and I managed to find a doctor that could see me but DH rang them this morning to book an appointment for himself and they're not taking any more patients so neither him or DS1&2 can see the same doctor ... ggrrr. So now I'm looking for another new doctor that we can all see. I'm going to change doctors too - I've only seen this doctor once so far and it turns out that she's cutting back to one day a week from June/July holidays so that's kind of limiting as to when I can have appointments with her so it doesn't seem worthwhile sticking with her either ddown.gif Shared care is looking pretty grim at the moment - maybe I can find out a bit more about the midwife care at the hospital on Monday and go with that instead - I just want some kind of regularity and consistancy with appointments for the next 5 months ...

Anyway, other than that, I'm starting to feel a bit better. Haven't thrown up this week (yay) and am definitely starting to feel better and more energetic during the day too so that's good news. Now if only I could find my 'pregnancy glow' laughing2.gif

Hope you're all feeling better too xx

Hi,

An infrequent visitor to this group.

Centralcoastmum2b - you might want to check as I think wyong only had drug free birth so any epidurals or CS get transferred to gosford.

If it helps I've had my first appointment with the midwives and it was great. It went for 2 hours so plenty of info given. I see the midwife at woy woy but will birth at gosford.

CPM - I'm glad your results came back good. I hope things went well telling your boss.

AFM my NT results were all in the thousands so happy with that!

HI,

Meeting with my boss went really well, he was quite supportive, but I think horified that I was going public kept offering me reccomndations for OBs. Still cant say if Ill get a new contract once I go one leave (my contract ends 3 weeks after the baby is due).

There was a thread smewhere about stupid things husbands say but I ccouldn't find it so I'll share DH's moment of genius with you ladies.

DH was poking me in the stomach and said "If I poke your belly will the baby swim towards my finger like goldfish do when you put your finger up to the fish tank" roll2.gif

The man has 2 degrees..... pity help me.

Kinda disappointed cos I went 15 weeks without getting sick.
