Our school celebrates Harmony Day which is this Wednesday and encourage the kids to dress in something relating to their heritage. My DD's are primarily Italian. I don't have alot of time so aside from a pasta necklace I'm having trouble thinking of anything. Has anyone got any nifty ideas?

My snarking is a medical condition.
Is this instead of uniform?

Could you dress them in the colours of the italian flag? Make a Venetian mask? Puffy white shirt/blouse, knee length trousers/skirt with apron?

Never forget who you are, little star
It's a tricky one isn't it? Our heritage is also Italian but there isn't really an Italian-style costume (maybe an Armani suit in XS?).

One time I had to dress up for an Italian themed party and I put on a floral print cotton dress, my mother's apron, tied a scarf around my hair, wore a crucifix around my neck and put a couple of wooden spoons in the apron pocket.Finished it off with socks and slippers.

Yep instead of uniform.

I've found a red t-shirt and white skirt in her drawer so I'm going to make a little italian flag and pin in to the front of her t-shirt. The ought to do it original.gif Maybe a pasta necklace to finish it off.

Surely as an Italian there a dea easy cultural dress up you can do?

ROMAN TOGA!!!!

Just grab a sheet, a belt, a pair of thongs and perhaps a crown of twigs. Next step - get your child to lounge around on a sofa eating grapes! lol

A bit too late for you but my first thought was an Italian soccer outfit. Another option (and maybe you can save this idea for Book Week) is Strega Nona:
