Hi Ladies,

Clrw - Good luck with the other BT. I hate incompetance too....it drives me nuts especially in this field.

Thank you Jacni & Halby.....

AFM: Well today was okay but I am not over confident, which is why I have delayed for a month to get my head around things. I am not that sure I am happy with Melb IVF, I am thinking of changing to MonashIVF. I will see......I spoke to the FS today and he said that he doesn't know why it didn't work for us. My progestrone was a little low but not as bad as last time, so the Pregnyl worked a little better but he suggested giving me the progestrone in a needle form that is apparently very painful and I have to have every second day after ET. Apparently very popular in the US but not so much here. He said because of my age, he is not sure about my egg quality either, normally they say that you should get pregnant in 1-3 cycles but coz of my age it could take 1-7 (WTF), I said that we can't afford another cycle after this, so they are upping my dosage of GonalF to 450 and then the trigger will be pregnyl instead of Ovidrel and then the Prog needles after and he wants me to do a two embryo transfer. He said he can't understand why I only got 2 eggs last time when I had 10 follicles. Go Figure. But he also said they can't understand why I didn't respond to the first cycle. So there is alot of clouds of mystery if you ask me. Anyway, after alot of crying and talking to my DH and mum.....I have decided to give it one last shot and have another cycle and see what happens. I can only try, I will continue with the Naturopath and acupuncture, it can't hurt at all. Thanks for listening ladies. original.gif

Hi Mish*J
I just read your post and thought I'd jump in - it drives me so nuts to hear that you aren't getting the level of care you deserve and are paying for after all wacko.gif

i'm with monash hawthorn and have found them to be very supportive with our journey.
Also my Dr is happy to recommend complimentary methods to improve success and he also is involved with alot of research which i think means he's up to date. i've always found my nurse to be on the ball with answers, advice and call backs. The Dr is also great at explaining reasons why cycles haven't worked and happy to answer all my zillions of questions and is conscious of keeping the costs of ivf down.
I can imagine how frustrating it must be to not have the answers to why treatment isn't working - its your body and so important to understand whats going - but it sounds as though you really are doing everything you can; I don't think your age is much of an issue i started ivf when i was 37 and the dr told me i was 'young' which surprised me original.gif
Good luck with this next cycle and take care xx

Hi all,

AF arrived this morning. I was able to go back to bed rather than traipse across the city for another BT which I was very happy about.

I'm really ok with it. This was just round one. I'm looking forward to a few months break before my FET. So lucky to have some frosties and not have to do another down reg straight away.

Best of luck to you all biggrin.gif

So sorry Mish it is such a hard journey, its horrible that your unable to get definite answers, maybe a change in clinic and specialist would be good offers another perspective and opinion. I wish you all the best for the future

Such a bummer clrw! Im very sorry to hear, great that you have 3 frosties to work with thats a great result and FETs are so so so much easier!
