We have over a kilo of red tulip chocolate given to us as easter eggs this easter and were never going to be able to eat it all.

I will be baking a heap of slices and other sweet treats for a cake stall this weekend, can I melt down and use these easter eggs instead of cooking chocolate?

Absolutely! My dinner guests had melted easter eggs on vanilla bean ice-cream for dessert last night! There is no way my kids are eating ALL that chocolate! It is insane!

Absolutely!

And if you have any of the small filled eggs try making chocolate muffins and placing an egg into the 1/2 filled pan then covering it with more batter..

You get an amazing 'filled' muffin that you will spent the next 12 months dreaming about!

No porblems at all!

I'm doing this with the herritage brand chicken MIL gave us - except i'm mixing it in with some good quality white chocolate to make it more edible.

I have a food blog.
I would say, make sure that it's a good quality egg. There are some cheap and nasty eggs out there that would not be worth baking with.
