Ooohhh silver I have never been in an ongoing thread enough to get a medal. Small things hey Dawn, good to hear the scope went as well as scopes can be and crossing my fingers you get a good result. Kel, how awful. I hope things can sort themselves out quickly for you. I believe I have had a fistula, from bowel to inside vagina, but it was back before I had been diagnosed and we just had no idea what it was. I still have the 'holes' or indentations ( there's no TMI with Crohns, sorry girls) but they haven't been active for a while. Mine cleared up in about 12 weeks with no treatment but bloody painful and uncomfortable for those 12 wks. I'm not sure what actually happens though when they know its a fistula. Me, feeling pretty blah and uncomfortable in this heat. I think I'm having a mild flare so I'm avoiding my GP and the hospital for the time being so I can't be classed as high risk. Obviously if it keeps up I'll go in but I'm trying to ride this out for a few weeks. Heat probably won't help at all. Hope everyone is as well as you can be with CD/UC Lisa

Gold...Helen? Is that due to being the first to post in the new thread? I had gastro last week...and it totally upset my stomach. So much pain and went to the toilet about 12 times...lovely..NOT!! I'm still looking for a new GP and gastro specialist. Have no clue where to look. I tried to get into a local GP but they are refusing all new patients. Have to keep trying until I find one I'm happy with. Take care everyone.

Hi LAdies
Lots to comment on
firstly
Kez: are you in Sydney, because i have an excellent GP and Gastro i can recommend. Both in Bondi Junction. My gastro is always running really late, but it is because he care about his patients. No rushing or bandaid solutions. I just call a few hours before my appts to see where his schedule is!
Helen: I hear you girlfreind. Im trying to lose at least 10 kg but its not happening!! I do 2 sessions a week of swimming training, plus walking, and try to stick to a low gi diet, but nothing is happening. I have always weighed a bit, but never looked heavy (im pretty tall and stacked in the chest area) Like was always a size 12, but in the past year, Im finding it hard to squeeze into a size 14. I don't crave fatty crappy food (could't eat it even if i wanted too!!) but i do like a fair splash of olive oil in everything. Prob drink too much vino too. Perhaps we should motivate each other??
Me: well since I last posted, I have been really sick. I ate something which caused a shocking flare up, and couldn't keep anything in (from either end ha ha ha) for over a week. We (finally) had a housewarming party, and I made all of this fantastic food, and I couldn't eat any of it. Even worse, we were right on deadline at work for a new magazine, and the editor was NOT pulling his weight, so it all fell on me, so I couldn't take off any time. So bad. I was doubled over in pain, runnning to the loo, and do you think any of the blokes in my office could do anything other than make funny comments!!!??
Feeling like a new person now, but it was really bad. going into detail here, but there was bleeding, mucous, all that nasty stuff. REALLY bad stabbing abdominal pain... the works. And I didnt even lose a single bloody kilo!!
What else?? Went to the Reproductive Endocrinologist and am now off the pill and the metformin which was for PCOS, and its all feeling scary about ttc next year. The professor said he isn't too concerned about pcos, more about the crohn's affecting my ability to concieve. He was talking about scar tissue in the abdomen and all sorts of things. I just zoned out... I do have a whole bunch of tests he wants to do though.
Ya anyway.. thats all my news. Should really do some work.

Hi ladies
Sorry to hear you haven't been well either Starla.
I've complained of not being well the last few days. I can just feel it so I had bloods done this morning and my doctor has rang me this afternoon to have me admitted to hospital tomorrow morning for a few days. They want me to have a heamoglobin transfusion because my iron is so low andhave the steroid drip to control the CD activity I'm having.
I'm only 17 wks pregnant so I'm a bit scared and not really sure how this will all work.
Hope everyone else stays well but I shall see you all in a few days.
Lisa
