there are some cheeky people on here ;-)
we got a hyundai i30 wagon and love it. it has a larger boot but isn't a beast of a vehicle and i find it very easy to drive and park. the only thing i'm not liking is it's a bit rough when sitting in the back when bub needs comforting on a long drive. i don't like SUVs because of petrol consumption (just too expensive) and the space is high as opposed to long in the boot. when thinking about what you want, consider: - boot size - some trips away you will take EVERYTHING. i couldn't see out my back window the first time we went away... - the space available behind the front seat where you want to put your capsule / car seat. as for the first 6 months the baby has to be rear facing, some of the baby seats you can get are huge and they require a gap between it and the seat in front. ours only just fits, i didn't realise when we bought the seat that it might be a problem. if you want to have the seat behind the driver's seat it's harder as leg room is more of an issue. - how long will you have the car for - ours will fit a second car seat for bub#2 but there's no way anyone else would fit in the middle seat. also, once bub is a bit older you might wind up getting a stroller that is quite small to leave in the car. most of my friends have done this, so the space they need after about 12 months reduces. then #2 arrives and it starts all over again... happy car shopping! |
