We have added another girls name to our list.....Soraya. Would love to know what you all think? It is a little different and actually means princess in persian.....DP says its growing on him. This name picking thing is sooo hard!!

Deanne, I LOVE that name!!! Its beautiful and has a great meaning, a bit different but not way out there and will suit a little girl and a grown woman!!!

Question-
Have you mummy's started organising your nurseries?
I'm a bit of a theme-maniac...For my 3 yr old son it was "Jungle in the Rainforest" and for this little boy I'm planning on "A waterworld of Under the Sea"!!!

Also i posted a question re names- some people have such strong reactions to names don't they? If you had lots of ppl "dislike" a prospective name would that stop you? I guess i posted the question to see the reaction and yes i was right, it got a strong dislike sad.gif sad.gif sad.gif

I guess it just goes with the territory doesn't it? Forums full of anonymous people are always going to be particularly strong in their opinions and of course when you are asking the direct question.

I think if you really love a name, you should definitely still consider it. Having said that, if a vast majority of people are strongly anti a name, I'd be asking myself WHY?

I guess it's ok for you as an adult (and being the person who picked the name) to be able to cop peoples' negative reactions (if people are honestly that rude to comment directly to you after you've chosen a name) but my main concern would be for your child and whether it would impact negatively on him/her in the future.

I'm interested too though as one name on our list seems to divide people. It's not particularly common and would be considered a "virtue" name (i.e. along the lines of Grace, Hope, Faith etc) but illicits strong reaction from what I can see (not in my personal experience but by googling...) The reason being that people associate the name with a horror movie! unsure.gif I never think of it in that light and have a friend with the name who is beautiful inside and out.

Nursery - We're going to be moving before this baby comes, so no, we've done nothing. Can't wait to move... DD2 still shares our room in this place wacko.gif It's a large room - technically we could add a bassinet and still not be too squished with our bed plus DD2s bed plus other stuff... but yeah bring it on. We already have absolutely everything we need so it's just a matter of dragging it out of cupboards and getting it back off the people we lent it too. Anything we got rid of, we've already had offers of loaners (the good thing about being in a large extended family with lots of babies born in the past few years haha!)

Names - we're keeping our names a total secret from everyone. by that we mean EVERYONE, even our parents etc. You are a lot less likely to get the "eww i hate that name" reactions once you have given that name to a born child ... I wouldn't let it stop me, but it would make me second guess myself and there is no need for that! Everyone has their opinions and their own tastes, if you like it go with it.

eta just asked DP if he's told anyone and apparently he has... thankfully it's someone that doesn't really talk to anyone else we know. sigh. he's like oh but i didn't know we were keeping it secret (?!?!?!?) Um hello, we kept it secret before! why would it suddenly be different now? sigh. laughing2.gif Men.

Taleah Rose - I can definately recommend the Just Jeans ones if you're hating yours. They're called second skin, are super adjustable as i get bigger, and come in half sizes (like 9 and 13) which is really handy. And best of all....no butt cleavage! wink.gif Must have been so scary falling with bub in your tum - amazing how the instinct kick in and youll twist yourself into a pretzal to avoid bumping her (positive thinking her for you happy.gif ). On prams i bought a pretty basic steelcraft cruiser travel system when they were on sale at target. I anticipate using a sling more than a pram, and using the capsule as a carseat, but im sure itll come in handy at some point.

Welcome to mamma bear, love the name Dante! As stated above, anonymous people on boards can be harsh when names are essentially a personal choice of the parents, who surely are giving a though to the fact that their child will (most likely) keep it for the rest of their lives. It's D names you're looking for, yes? I love Damon, was on my list but no so useful for a girl wink.gif On the spanish sounding front i love Diego, which you can't use! How about Dario, Danielo, Danilo, Davide, .....im drawing a blank now lol. Can you recycle grandparents names?

Carrie&Josh - Hope you and the family are all better soon, ur certainly having a rough time of it! And yay on the new stroller, although rubbish to hear you rnt having much success on chasing your money for the last one.

Hi Erin! Yep thats my bump, it's actually bigger now than in the pic, but it's still just as loved original.gif Im hugely impressed with how my body is handling pregnancy, i'm still working on my feet 5 days a week which probably helps, but put it largely down to genetics as mum stayed little as well and really just gained a bump and breasts - which she actually KEPT, fingers crossed!!
Hope everything is starting to head upwards for you original.gif How did the ex's visit go?

mummygirl - thanks! let me know how you go with the sling making exercise. I'm not much use with a sewing machine, but if its straightforward i might con mum into giving it a go for me wink.gif
Sounds like a little girl will be very welcomed by your entire extended family!

*Deanne* - Thanks! And goodluck with your scans and shopping adventures on the weekend, hope everything is perfect for you original.gif Ditto to those above, Soraya is a beautiful name. I think i'm stuck on Lucia for this one though, so i won't steal it off you wink.gif

natasha77 - hope you're feeling better!

No news from me, bub is wriggling away happily as we speak. Hi to all those i've missed original.gif And to whoever has managed to sneak in a reply while i've been very distractedly trying to write this unsure.gif

Sorry...just a quick hello tonight. I am grumpy!! First day back at work which is ok...but my husband had the day off and I was hoping to come home to a tidy house and dinner organised. NO!! I come home to an empty, messy house & no husband. Tried ringing him, phone flat. He finally comes home and he'd been in the city at a beer house all day with his brother! Errrr.

On a MUCH better note though, had appt with obstetrician today who went through my morphology results. He is still concerned about the 'kidney dysfunction' but was very positive as it only seems to be one kidney enlarged and other than extra scans (which are fun anyway!!!) they will prob just deal with the problem once my little one is born. I am relieved, much more hopeful than we were initially thinking. tthumbs.gif

Deanne, I love your name for a girl. It is very feminine but also strong. And as mamma bear said, it suits a child and an adult.

AnjG, what brand of mcn's did you buy?? They sound cute!

Cityreader, I did a BA too, then followed on with post-grad. Was very glad when it was over...but I do sort of miss uni life!

Is anyone else STILL not feeling any movement?? I am sick of waiting! mad.gif

Hi Ladies,
I was hoping to join your group. I am currently pregnant with baby number 2. Due date is the 26 November. I already have a DD who is 4 years old.
I live in Sydney and am really looking forward to getting to hear how you are all travelling.
We are going Public for the birth through the Midwifery Birth Centre after having a very positive Public Hospital experience with our daughter's birth.
I am travelling well health wise and am in the nice period between morning sickness finishing and heartburn kicking in - so trying to enjoy it as best I can!
I am only new to EB, so will go and have a bit of a look around and see what else I can find! I am wanting to do a bit of research on MCN to use this time around!
Look forward to getting to know you all.
K

Hello ladies!

Wow, quiet in here today!

Welcome SpecialK75! We're normally pretty chatty but not sure where everyone is today! original.gif

TaleahRose: I got mostly Grovia's but a couple of newborn rumparooz as well. They are so cute! I just love all the designs. happy.gif
Good to hear that you had some reassuring news about your little one; hope you're feeling a bit less stressed. Re: Movements, do you have an anterior placenta too? Sorry, you've probably said this before but I can't keep track! I didn't feel anything until week 21 really and they were only flutters to begin with. I still only feel sporadic movements; nothing as strong as kicks or definite movements; just odd sensations! Anyways, I kept myself going by convincing myself that bubs will be a quiet one when it's born! Hang in there, it will happen!

Hi to everyone else! I'm at work and have to rush to a meeting so I'd best keep this short!

Hi girls,

A quick pop in, I have a hideous cold. Don't you hate not being able to take Codral!? It's been 4 years since i've been able to get rid of my cold's symptoms and I miss it!!

I'm packing today, ready for Friday! Yay! Though it's hard taking little rather than more, for the boys! I know how they spill and go through clothes!

Taleah Rose - such great news and what a relief for you now you've seen your OB. I'm really relieved for you xx

Welcome SpecialK!

BBL xx

I havent been in of late due to a dead computer which i only got back yesterday..the timing just couldnt have been any worse with end of financial year for the business, so yes Im up to my eyeballs in paperwork and with a sick hubby I must say Im really feeling the pressure..

Anyway I have been able to keep up to date with my i phone so at least that's one less thing to worry about.

Other then a little stress all is well here. Bub's is moving a lot which is always great to feel. We have done no shopping with this one and i probably dont intend on doing much. Hubby has been given the task of a coming home outfit for our princess but most of the stuff I had for the boys was neutral so we will just probably go with those. And if the boys are anything to go by Im sure lots of gifts will be coming our girls way so clothing will pretty much be covered.

Ive noticed some small bumps over the past thread...oh how envious am I of you.. Over the past week I have been told by some rude cows that gees you look like you are about to go any moment...I so want to comeback with well yes I am pregnant but whats your excuse.....But i was so happy that one lovely mum said its about time we see a pregnant lady look just that...yes well im 24 weeks and i have put on 10kg..yep that's right 10kg but Im not small and yes I love my food so what do you expect...and besides Im the one who has to loose all the weight after she is born not you...OK...

Im sorry this is a me post but I do feel a little stressed and need to vent and release the feelings. I will try and pop back in later when DS2 is resting and hubby is too.

ciao for now
