I need to lose 2 kilo's in 7 days. Why? Cause my PT is trying to get me back on track by offering me movie tickets if I lose 2 kilo's this month. It being the end of the month and me not yet having lost anything, I'm freaking out! I'm doing the shakes, I'm cutting down the carbs, I'll be at the gym more (I hope).

Anything else anyone can advise? I'm too old to be happy being hungry. sad.gif

For movie tickets? pffft, stupid idea to lose 2 kgs in 7 days with an unsustainable diet and exercise program.

Why didn't you lose any weight in the last 3 weeks with a PT?

You are just setting yourself up for yo-yoing the weight back on and more the week after when you're sick of not eating properly and can't get to the gym as much.

I agree. Are you watching what you are eating? I use the app My Fitness Planner. Helps me see the amount of bad food I've been eating rather than good. IE I think twice about what I put in my mouth now.

Shakes are a waste of time. They don't give you the proper nutrition and you'll end up eating stuff you shouldn't 'cause you're hungry.

You also need to avoid places like Boost Juice. Where you think you' re having a healthy option, but it's high in calories and sugar.

Why call it "common" sense when it is so rare?

Getting back on track is the challenge you need to tackle, not winning movie tickets. Telling yourself you need to lose 2 kilos is not healthy. It is the perfect setup for that all-or-nothing thinking -- it reads "If I don't lose the 2 kilos, I have failed, so I might as well eat xxxxxx or zzzzzzzz, etc"

And "hoping" you'll be at the gym more??? What does that mean? Sorry to be so blunt, but if you only hope, it probably won't happen.

If you've lost no weight in the month under the guidance of a PT, I think you should look at other options. Clearly the "diet" you are on is not working, and the exercise is not compensating for what you are eating (assuming you have no medical issues).

Go for it! Its a goal, no worse than any other goal that people set themselves. You need to be ultra careful with nutrition - for me I'd be eating around 1200cal (depends on your started weight though), and hitting the exercise 45 mins at least 4x in the week.

Its doable, and maybe you'll get your movie tix wink.gif

Oh ffs the 2 PPs. Yes it's a goal, but not a goal for healthy, achievable and sustainable weight loss. The goal the PT set of 2kg in a MONTH is a sensible one, but the way the OP has fartassed around and now realises she needs to do in 7 days has caused her to reach for stupid solutions for a quick weight loss that will go straight back on the week later.

It's cheating, and stupid, but, yes, exactly what the weight loss/shake industry love.

It may do it "easy" but what about long-term? Enjoy the movies and then go back to the same old eating habits after learning zilch??????
Optifast (and any other shake programs) is a quick-fix answer to a long-term problem. That is the truth! Show me evidence that anyone doing this sort of thing have kept their weight off for more than a year????
