We have a male Eclectus, Duke who is 2.3 years old. We had an Alexandrian, however he recently passed away. Duke is missing him terribly, and is quite bored without a play mate.
We have decided not to go another Alexandrian, as he was very much a one person bird (only loved me) and there were times when he would really dislike Duke. After much research and consideration, we are thinking about purchasing a Hahns Macaw Hen. I have spoken to Duke's breeder and she thinks that this is a good pairing, and will go okay so I am after some general advice about Hahns Macaws. I am aware of how intelligent they are, as well as they noise they can create - this does not bother me. The only Macaw we have ever interacted with though was a friends blue and gold macaw - however it is too large of a bird for us at this point in time. Any advice would be great |
