It's all well and good for some people to say do it because of this or that. They don't have to pay other peoples bills. Some people just can't afford to think for the future when it comes to things like this. They just have to do the best they can here and now.

Because it's a waste of money to pay more for it. Not that I'd buy them anyway. There is no nutritional difference, and in fact since 'organic' farming is less efficient and productive, it uses more land and is worse for the environment.

I dont 'choose not to', i just generally cant afford it! If there was no price difference of course Id go organic every time.

Also some 'organic' things are only partly or actually not at all organic, the food labelling system in australia totally sucks

I wish I could, but Budget Says No. I buy local, organic free range eggs. That alone makes the budget creak dangerously.

I buy local. I buy in season. (I also grow much of my own.)

Usually that means what I buy is organic but sometimes it isn't. I'd still prefer the spuds from the paddock down the road - even if I 'm not 100% sure if he sprayed or not - than an 'organic' potato that has been transported 1/2 way across the country.

Ditto, except I don't grow my own (yet).

I'm not a believer in Organic anything being any better then however else fruit & veg are grown.
I wash anything I buy thoroughly before eating.

I will buy organic soemthing if it looks better then the other fruit and veg. But don't believe it's worth the extra cost.

I think cost and availability is it for us. Conventional fruit & veg is just so much easier to come by. I'm finding the bigger supermarkets are stocking more and more organic fruit & veg but the range is still fairly limited, and I know there are reasons for this - buying in season etc. I don't have anything against buying organic and will buy it if I can, but I don't specifically seek it out, if that makes sense?

I do buy organic carrots from Coles, and tinned organic lentils and tomatoes when I do, that's about it really. Most of the veg I buy is frozen anyway.

I know I shouldn't bite but... in what way is it worse for the environment?

eta: On second thoughts forget it. I honestly can't be bothered.
