oh BOY what a day!! original.gif
Had playgroup this morning after being away for a few weeks, then went off to my first OB appt and she asked if we wanted to find out the sex, said that my DH had wanted to find out the first 2 times and hadn't as I had wanted the surprise and so we would be finding out this time, then she asked me to hop on the bed for the blood pressure and a quick scan, she asked again if wanted to know sex and I said yes and so she checked out the sex and showed me, without a doubt a little boy!! Very exciting news after 2 little girls, so then off to the shops we went and bought a few blue outfits (couldn't help myself Tounge1.gif ) then off to the hospital to visit my Mum who had a knee op this morning, gave my 3.5 yr old the bag of clothes to show Nanna and that bought Nanna to tears, so excited that we are having a boy. Was lovely.
Hopefully that will help some of my anxiousness about my next scan (I tend to get quite nervous on scan days worried that something will be wrong etc and I thought this time I would be extra nervous with the finding out of the sex but today really helped that).
We are over the moon original.gif

OB also agreed that I am probably further along than the initial scan thought based on some of her measurements today, the HB and everything at my first scan where they told me I was 5w6d was very strong and other measurements are making her believe that I am probably up to 4 or 5 days ahead of where they said, so we will wait and see what happens at the 19 week scan.

Hope everyone is going well

My shopping..

And here is my huge belly...

what does the glucose test involved...don't you have to drink some really really sweet stuff or something?

yes you do. biggrin.gif If I remember it right, you drink it within a certain amount of minutes and you need to wait a certain amount of time, then give a blood sample. I think it tastes a bit like flat lemonade.

For the test, you have to fast (not sure how long for, I'm going first thing in the morning and can't have breakfast) they take a blood test, then you drink a sugary drink and they do another blood test 2 hrs later.

Amanda - TWO BLOOD TESTS????? I hate needles too and was totally unprepared for two in the space of a few hours. Crap! Think of the baby...

Frog - any news on the twins? I'm guessing at least one boy based on the scan pic!

Kateibelle - how exciting that you got to find out the gender! Of course either would be nice, but it's lovely that you're having a little boy after two girls. Congratulations!

Lisa - must be great feeling the baby move. I still haven't really felt anything yet. I'm definitely growing so taking that as a good sign. Good luck with the rest of the unpacking.

Missusb - gosh, only 1 kilo? I think I've put on 5! I figure that's Ok given we are apparently (and I still don't understand quite how this works) officially into the fifth month.

Hello to everyone else and good luck with any scans that are coming up.
Lou

Hi Ladies,

Looking for news from frog :-)

Katie - Congrats on the news that your having a baby boy. How wonderful for you. I just love the cute little outfits.

Amanda - How bad am I..done this twice before already and i forgot that there was 2 blood tests. I do remember however that for my first pregnancy the drink was green and really sweet and yucky tasting but second time round it was the clear one that tasted like flat lemonade and found it quite nice lol

AFM - Golly gosh my tummy must be stretching today....it has gone so hard and def feels bigger thus afternoon. I'm also feeling more devined movements from bub rather then just bubbles popping so I think we have both def had a growth spurt hahahaha. I weighed myself yesterday and up until 3 weeks ago I hadn't put on any weight but then in the last 3 weeks I have put on 1.9kg.....now that my dizzyness is under control I think it's time to start walking.

Hi to everyone else I too have been keeping up on facebook daily xoxox

Yes Lou I totally understand.. TWO!! I hate needles, my first blood test ever was when I got a BFP, so this will make donation 2 and 3 sick.gif Have you weighed yourself? I have only gained 0.8kgs and I was confident it would be at least 2, I feel heavier!

Kathryn - 1.9kgs is great original.gif I know what you mean about growing though, must be that time of the pregnancy! I read that our babies are doubling in weight over the next 3weeks ..!

Hi girls,

Katie - yay for the boy! How exciting & cute clothes.

Amanda - The needles I can handle, I can't stand the taste of that drink & then having to wait around for an hour to have another needle.

Hope everyone is well. Feeling heaps of movements now to the point wherre sometimes it is a little bit annoying. Must be a super active baby in there & I can't wait until DH & the kids can feel it from the outside. I have been getting quite a few sharp, stretching pains on my right side always in the same spot. It is mainly when I am lying down & move too quickly or get up & sometimes it is really painful. I remember this from my other PG's but forgot how much it hurt sometimes.

Bec x
