It is DS's first friends party for his 6th birthday - booked for the last weekend of the holidays as its close to his actual birthday, and the weekend after school goes back the venue he wanted was booked out. Invitations were handed out in the last week of school, with RSVP requested one week before the party. This is still a couple of days away, but we have had none reply so far from 15. I can't stop thinking what if no one turns up!! I don't know any of these kids and it's holidays so I have no way of giving a polite nudge. Am I stressing out over nothing?? I know I won't be doing another party in the holidays again. Lesson learned!

It's so annoying isn't it! In the 3 years of having parties for my DSs (from age 5 onwards) I hardly ever get RSVPs. I would never book a venue because I would stress to much - we always just go to parks or have it at home and that way it doesn't really matter how many turn up. Well apart from doing party bags and that's enough to drive me insane when you don't know how many kids are actually going to turn up.

I do know that sometimes when DS1 is invited to a party the invite never actually makes it to me rolleyes.gif

Hopefully you will get some RSVPs in the next couple of days!

I feel your pain. My DD's birthday is in the next school holidays. Last year I had to chase up quite a few people who hadn't RSVPd. I'm guessing you don't have a class contact sheet which makes it so much harder.

I hope everyone is just a bit tardy and you get responses back very soon!
