and life barrels on like a runaway train
I am here.

I love Dr Seuss. I have even reserved his biography from the library original.gif Now where to find time to read it. Another sucky night with Elise last night.

Poor Goo Goose...they never mentioned sucky nights in Oh The Places You'll Go, did they???

I've been cheating the last couple of nights as Himself has been away and just grabbing little Ladybug and co-sleeping when she wakes for her night feed. We lay down, she has a drink, I fall asleep and wake up about two or so hours later with the little parasite still attached and using me as a dummy!!!! wub.gif

She is soooooo snuggly, she curls up on her side right next to me and is perfectly content. Himself doesn't like me doing that though, so this is a treat for us both when he isn't here!

Yesterday morning we were snuggling when Little Bug crawled up and snuggled up to Ladybug...then Master Bug crept in and cuddled up to Little Bug, followed soon after by Biggest Bug...probably a good thing Himself wasn't home, as it would have got pretty squishy pretty quickly!

Peanut - I had a slow grower and I really did need to wake her as she was sleeping, but kept going backwards in weight until we started the 3hr feeding regime. It took about three months (and in our case due to other complications, comp feeding) for her to really pick up again and I could let her settle into her own routine at night. She didn't really wake when I scooped her up at night and settled quite well after.

I didn't do it every night as I needed the longer sleep at times, too! But it did help her.

I have brains in my head and feet in my shoes, I can take myself any place that I choose. With my head full of brains and my shoes full of feet...

I LOVE that book original.gif

Feeding 6 month olds is darn messy. How ling until he can feed himself?

Peanut - no advice from me, I'm in the "never wake a sleeping baby" camp, but I have had to wake both mine in the first couple of weeks for feeds - DS1 was a VERY sleepy baby, he would've slept day and night without feeding properly so I had to force it on him. DS2 had blood sugar problems so same again. Luckily not after those initial weeks though.

If he's otherwise healthy can you leave it a week and check his weight again?

Mama bug - that sounds very nice. At my house all of us in the bed together lasts about 5 seconds before DS1 wants to bounce.

Horrible weather here today - stuck inside after play group this morning. Hope you're all having fun original.gif

okay, it's not that I don't like Dr Seuss, but some of them really require a lot of concentration! And I often wonder whether the kids really "get" the story... I like the cat in the hat, green eggs and ham, oh the places you'll go, and what i saw on mulberry street. If I ran the zoo, and a couple of the others are just too difficult, if you ask me! I also like the 1st of Octember... I really don't think the kids understand a lot of the stories though. I know Ruby doesn't.

The one that I loved as a kid, which was by Theo Le Sieg, not Dr Seuss, but was in the same format, was Come Over to My Place. I've still go it, and read it to Ruby.

Peanut, I think I'd be waking him... he really needs to be gaining weight, and maintaining his growth curve. Maybe you could try increaseing the day feeds for a few days, and if that doesn't help, try waking him.. do you express at all? if you do, maybe express a bit, and give it to him in a bottle as a dream feed, then you don't have to wake him. It's easier to dream feed with a bottle than breast.

Well, DH is away for the weekend... so we're amusing ourselves. Will probbaly be frazzled come Sunday night!

Ruby's doing okay at pre-school, although I have left her in tears a couple of times. Not sure why. Freya has really taken to daycare, which is great. The girls keep telling me she's such a happy lilttle thing- so different to what Ruby was like when she started! Only 3 weeks til my mat leave ends... I really don't want to go back to work...

We're still waiting to settle on our new house, aiming for Tuesday now. The sellers had a delay with getting a valuation on one of their other properties, which was crucial to settling this one, apparently. Meanwhile, we're fully moved in, and have painted two rooms! The spare room was a horrible brown, but is now a lovely green, and Freya's room was very boyish, with blue and dark green, but is now a lovely pinky-purple (more pink than purple).

Mamabug, how's your sale going? any serious offers yet?
