At the moment we are living in South west Sydney but are planning on moving back to the inner west in the next 6 months. This has been a sudden descicion and I am not prepared in the way of child care with the wait lists as I have been in our current area.

I'm scared to how things will go as DS is still below a lot of kids on the list and we certainly don't live in a trendy area. The areas we are looking to move are Dulwich hill, Summer hill, St Peter or Marrickville.

I prefer non for profit centers/family daycare/Montessori but I guess at this point should apply for anything.

I'm just after some recommendation and advice on a good centre.

Thank you :-)

I like cats, but I couldn't eat a whole one.
The Goodstart centre in Marrickville has limited vacancies for the two and overs. They're not for profit.

DS is 15 months, forgot to add that. I'm sure it will make things more difficult!

My DS is at Betty Spears in Tempe. It is a community based, not for profit centre, so parents are expected to be actively involved in fundraising.

We could not be happier with the Centre. It is exceptional. There are only 10 babies in the 0-2 room, which makes for a relatively peaceful space and my DS sleeps well there. All the carers know him well and can answer anything, anytime about his day. He is settled an happy there 2 days per week.

I understand it is full for the rest of this year, but possibly vacancies for next year.

Happy to answer any questions you might have.

I am in Summer Hill... There are no vacancies near by ATM, it's pretty hard here as there are no under 3 actually in our suburb...but I have a wonderful, family care just about 10mins from Dulwich Hill.

My DS just loves it, he has been since 11 1/2 mths .....I was recommended through another friend who has 3, and has been very happy too.

I know she has space now so PM me if interested.

We attend Deborah Little at Dulwich Hill, it's run by Marrickville Council and I love it, and so does DS1. The only downside is it's so popular that my DS2 is yet to get in. Good luck!

I've heard good things about the Infants Home in Ashfield - not sure if they have places, but might be worth a call.

We had a place there but had to decline due to distance for commuting.
