The second Oscar's Law Rally is being held in 3 states on Sunday the 16th September. I will be at the Adelaide one! Please pass the word around! Dog-friendly dogs are very welcome to attend, on leash.

Is anyone from EB going to the Sydney one? I might try to go. Not that I can, you know, vote or do anything helpful like that.

Sadly I will not be in Sydney that weekend, so cannot make it. It would have been fun to catch up with LDD! sad.gif

By the way, if you go to the Vic rally, Oscar himself will be there with Debra Tranter. He's the face of Oscar's Law.

I think we're quite a way off getting a vote yet. Clover was defeated in parliament. I think Clover went to last years Sydney rally. She'll probably go again.

There's some party here that are including animal sales in their next campaign. I'd have to read up on them before voting though. It's something like the "safe sex" party lol.

The more people that attend the rally though, means that more people will sit up and take notice. Footage was shown on the news which made more people curious about what Oscar's Law is.

She didn't bah me either. She did however, do the dying puppy squeal on Snik with hilarious results.

I have a rather vaccuous 'friend' through one of DD's activities. She bought a "Jug" from a Pet Shop. wacko.gif Despite being aware of puppy mills and the role that pet shops play in on-selling their product.

She wondered why her DH went ballistic (she then went OS for a month, leaving him with the kids and dogs). She'd previously bought a "Labradoodle" from that well know "purebred" Labradoodle breeder in Victoria.

She brought her unruly and untrained mutt to the activity - frightening the bejeezus out of one tiny tot (afraid of dogs, and this one wasn't exactly under control). The squeal, however, did sort one problem. It no longer jumps on anyone.

Now, if she'd just get to training with her dogs, and stop promoting her Labrador cross as the be-all and end-all of 'dog breeds', we might just get somewhere. She really believes the promotional stuff on the website is gospel truth. Its hilarious. Well, it would be except for the reality.

I may have to find a way to send a message of support to the rally in Sydney, seeing as how I can't get there in person.

My MIL has a shih-poo from a petstore. He is a nice enough dog, but he submission pees every time a human looks at him, generally on your feet. And he's more than twice the size she was promised, bigger than any shih tzu I've ever seen. And he has a strange oily coat and a funny sort of smell.

I'm not one to get wound up about a dog-smelling-dog, but he's not the tiny hypo-allergenic no-smelling miniature wonder she was sold.
