We are looking to buy in one of the two areas and hoping to get some feedback on schools and general 'feel' of the suburb. Any feedback appreciated.

I'm not so keen on Greenwood, although I've never lived there.

I live in a greenwood. Well, I will for another four weeks. We have the most beautiful house, but we have sold because the school is appalling. When I say that, there are two schools here, half of Greenwood is in area for one, half for the other.

The other school is marginally better, but the one we are in area for, is terrible. I had my daughters Year 3 teacher tell me she felt Maths wasn't important nowadays and that she wouldn't use it once she grew up. She also told me that my daughter was bright, but that she didn't have time to extend her so could I buy a few books from Woolridges and do it myself.

The Principal is not strong, he doesn't support his staff, therefore nothing will change while he is there.

Greenwood is a lovely suburb to live in, only if you have private school options in my opinion.

And as far as I know, Willeton's school reputation is one of the best in the Perth metro area, especially the high school.

My vote would be on Willetton, not a shadow of a doubt on that one.

If you want more info on the Greenwood schools, feel free to pm me original.gif

I'm in Willetton...It is an older suburb but has everything you need..20 mins in any direction takes you to the city, Freo, and the hills.

My kids go to one of the public primary schools and are doing great, in fact they really love school and best of all we are in the catchment area for 2 of the best public high schools in WA.

I can't comment on Greenwood as I have never lived there, but did used to live in Quinns Rocks, so have a general idea of NOR and can say I did love it up Nor, but in terms of schooling (public) I would highly recommend Willetton.

Can't comment on Greenwood - but we have bought in Willetton.

A small pocket of Willetton is the Rossmoyne School Zone -one of the top govt schools in the state. It has been like it since I was in High school.

Willetton High also has an excellent reputation and is in the top 10 like Rossmoyne.

The area is lovely. I can't comment on Willetton Primary as I've only spoken to the information officer about enrollment. They are very sopecific about your address and you have to provide utility billsin your name aswell as the usual info.

The area is central and close to lots of recreation / shops/ public transport seem really good. We like that it has alot of bike paths.

Greenwood is quite nice. It's on the Joondalup train line and it only takes 16 minutes to get into the city, great if you work in the CBD. Are you interested in buying in northern Kingsley, Padbury or Duncraig? They feed into Duncraig high and woodvale high which have good reputations. Willeton is a far far better high school than the one in Greenwood, it's actually one of the best in Perth.

Thanks for the replies, we are at a great primary now which i really dont want to leave. Willetton is a big plus due to the schools reputation, Greenwood we would look at the option of private schools but would be happier public.

Guess it back to the SOR real estate board.Quirk will pm you.

We just bought in Willetton. We also considered Duncraig.

Both suburbs looked fairly similar to my untrained eye (I didn't grow up in Perth). Willetton won out due to it being closer to family and the good reputation of the local schools.

I don't regret it at all. Would have been nice to afford in a leafy green riverside suburb, but we have a beautiful, renovated house on a large block for less than $700k and have great neighbours and facilities so I really can't complain.
