Hi

I own commercial property leases that allow me to renovate but not make structural changes. Some of the bathrooms are ancient - does anyone have any stories about bathroom reglazing or resurfacing of tiles, basins or baths? I may be able to replace some of the sinks but I can't do anything about tiling or baths I don't think.

Any ideas of costs if you've had it done?

I looked into this for my bathroom but apparently it's not worth the cost as the paint/reglazing peels off pretty quickly.

We renovated recently. We were going to re-use the claw foot bath that came with our Edwardian house and i got some quotes for re-enameling and i was looking at $1,000-$1,500. We ended up buying a new bath (free standing) for $300 and are glad that it worked out that way, as the new bath works better and we saved over $1,000.

Try the Homeone forum as there might be more experiences with these sort of things there.

Stay well away from Bathroomwerx!

They are absolutely terrible!

We had our bathroom tiles/bath resurfaced with them about 2 years ago. It immediately peeled off and keeps doing so every time they fix it. To get it fixed, we have to wait 6 weeks for the area manager to come and look at it and then a further 6 weeks for a tradesman to become available. Their customer service and product is beyond terrible! I have had times when I have waited 6 weeks for the tradesman, organised for the family to stay elsewhere for two days as we are unable to use our bathroom and then they don't show up ... they then take another 5 weeks to book in a new appointment! I could go on and on about how much I loathe this company and regret the day that we allowed them to ruin our bathroom! We have requested a refund but apparently they will continue to fix the problem as many times as necessary for 8 years but not give us our money back! Ridiculous! It would cost them a lot less to refund and end the relationship!

Anyway, I am sure there are reputable companies out there ... just not Bathroomwerx!
