Just watching it after recording it. Liking it so far and pretty authentic looking 1977 except maybe for the flickmixer tap and the modern looking glass pool fencing.

I liked it, will watch again next week.

The actress who plays Debbie (the darker haired girl) is almost 20! Really doesn't look that old.

Reclaiming my muchness...
How funny! the tap is the only thing that stood out for me too!
I really enjoyed it. Although feeling a bit old because so much was familiar laughing2.gif

To me the new debbie looked young at first as Nell Schofield had an older look. i was nolonger bothered by comparisons by the end of the episode original.gif It stood on its own two feet and I can't wait until next week!

My husband cringed a bit when I did the math and pointed out that his parents were 15/16 when this was set, so it's very much about them. He cringed worse when it struck him that it meant the parents were the equivalent of his grandparents biggrin.gif

Mutlitasking is not doing any of them properly
I enjoyed it too, but the mixer tap bothered me in an irrational way, as did the current print run of Green Eggs and Ham LOL.

Didn't mind it, the storyline is a bit meh so far though, hopefully it will develop. The girls do look so much younger though than the ones in the movie, they also don't seem to have quite that authentic look (not that I was even born then, again I'm just going on the movie?). I believe women's bodies and features have changed over the years, for example if you look at photos of women (and men) back in the early 1900's they seemed to have much sharper features and I believe it's more than just the hairstyles and makeup. Lifestyle, diet and advances in health and dental care?

The girls in the movie were supposed to be 16. The girls in the book were 13. This series has deliberately left their age ambiguous - just mid-teenish.

I noticed the mixer tap too. It seemed like the camera lingered on it and got me wondering if they actually did exist back then. It looked so modern. A lot of the other styling was very good - not too in your face, but definitely featuring items that took me back.

Apparently they changed the setting from late 70s to early 70s because there was some cool music they wanted to use that the later setting would exclude.
