The hand that rocks the cradle is the one that rules the world
So...

I live in a tourist town in the NT and the kids, DP and I went out for a group dinner at the poolside/meal area of a nice resort/caravan place in town. DP workmate is moving away and had organised a goodbye dinner etc.

DS2 who is 3 had grotty hands and I decided to walk him to the toilets to wash his hands. I have been to this area before for a meal but have never used the toilet till tonight. So anyway washing DS2 hands and then I turn to the paper towels and hand one to him and then I notice a metal box mounted on the wall next to the paper towel dispenser.

I take a closer look and to my horror realise what I'm looking at. The machine dispensed one thing and one thing only....A rubber ring with little rubber spikes around the entire ring that you the ladies place on your mans penis and the little rubber spikes are supposed to envoke waves of pleasure.

Um I'm no prude by any stretch of the imagination but I'm totally appalled that such a thing is on display in a toilet in a place where children of all ages come and go. Tourists with children stay here and the people of the town go there with their kids for a meal and their kids can go hop in the pool.

I might be showing my age (32) but I think having such a thing on display in a area where young girls can see it, (CHILDREN), is totally inappropriate!

What are your thoughts?

So it wasn't a condom vending machine, it was some other weird pleasure device being dispensed?
Yep, that's weird. But I guess condoms and tampons are almost as difficult to explain to little kids. I guess sometimes you just have to say, "That's a thing for grown ups that kids don't need to know about", and leave it at that.

That is so odd. I have no idea why you'd need to have them dispensed in a public toilet? Is that perhaps a toilet frequented by prostitutes or a gay meet up place?

Sounds so strange.

No more difficult to explain than condoms and they are frequently in public toilets.

There are kinkier sex toys they could be dispensing. I think it's weird but not horrifying.

I bloody well hope not! It's a area for having meals next to a nice pool in a tourist place to stay here in Kakadu. People from town go there for dinners or lunch and the tourists who stay there have meals. Kids running everywhere etc.

“Truths and roses have thorns about them.”
Most public toilets have something you probably will have to explain to the kids of they cotton on. But it's probably assumed they can't read.

Being a parents room at least they're aiming at a market - one they know have had sex (having had babies and all).

Honestly, I can see no reason something like that has to be available in a public toilet. Condoms, sanitary pads/tampons, perfume and even toothbrushes. Emergency situations. I've never known a sex toy to be an emergency device requiring immediate access.

It wouldn't horrify me but I'd sure as hell think of finding another toilet if that's the kind of clients this one is attracting.
