We are an Apple household through and through. DH has an original iPad, plus both kids have iPad 2's for school. It is DH's birthday on Friday and he has everything. He has hinted at a new iPad but has said he really doesn't need it.

Have thought about a Samsung tab as all his work stuff is Windows based. WHy would I buy one over an iPad?

This is a good comparison table:

Basically the Samsung is thinner, lighter and more powerful than an iPad.

Thanks just had a look at it but it refers to Ipad 2 not the new iPad. Was hoping some Samsung users could tell me from their experiences.

Ah right sorry didn't notice that.

FWIW, I am currently developing software for the Samsung Galaxy tablet (well, Android in general) to be rolled out to over 400 trucks. So far my experience has been that it is fast, slick (responsive) and very reliable. My (autistic) son has the new iPad and while it's great too, I find myself more and more going to the Android one as it just seems to have more on offer, and much more of a 'fiddle factor' than you can get with iPads. original.gif

All I know, is that I get frustrated not being able to use flash player on the ipad. It means I have to fire up the desktop to watch video in the cold office sad.gif
