Help! Had an attempt at curling my daughters fine, not particularly long hair with rags, and it came out really messy.

Are hot rollers any easier? She's 4, and I've kept her hair cut short until recently, it's long enough for pigtails at the front, but theres a few different leghths of layers at the back.

Also, she's quite sensitive to hot, are they uncomfortably warm? Want some info before I fork out $$$

We used a hot curling wand without any problems excpet our dd had long hair and the curls would fall out after an hour. Best thing we did for it was buy her a little curly wiglet and fake it, saved oh so many hours.

I used rags, BUT spray gel was my friend in ensuring they came out looking amazing!

Rags (using man sized tissues....yes I know, I doubted in the begining but it works!) and industrial strength gel works a treat.

I use spray starch when I had to do DD's for dancing. Spray on gel also works well, especially when you harden it with a hairdryer after application original.gif

I use those bendy roller things. Put in the night before, with hair spray of course and held in a bun net until just before event.

I like the look of sponge curlers rather than hot tong curls if it's for dancing and for a littlie. Overnight is best.
Don't brush through the curls or run your fingers through them too much after they have been curled.
A thick hair net (like a granny one) helps to keep them from dropping early
