Time goes tooooo fast some days.
Hello all!!

Just a little bit of a fluff question.

A school mum has invited about 7 of her DD school friends, and assuming family members to her DD 7th birthday.

She has been taking photos of what her daughter has picked out of catelogues and posting them on facebook...okay fair enough.

However, I received a text message of 2 photos of things, that are intended for me to buy her. Randomly, I didnt ask for this.

In the meantime, because my DD is actually very close to her DD, I purchased a $20 watch the same as my daughters, because this is what the girl asked me for, infront of her mother, which I then later said I managaed to get the last one. Additionally, her daugher was having a Tantrum over the fact that my DD has an iPad pen and she didnt. I asked her mum, that I could get her one for her birthday, another $10, which I proceeded to say to the mother, that I managed to find her daugher one.

Yesterday, the mother said, that if I wanted that there was 2 x $30 itunes cards for sale for the price of $50.

Now is it just me or is this a little rude?

Like I said our daughters are very close, so I would be happy to spend $50 total, including the 1.5hours travel to go to the party, which everyone going to will have to travel as its far for all.

But considering she knows i've already spend $30 and then receiving sms of other expensive things to buy...what should I do? bite the bullet and get something they chose, or just choose something that i consider in my budget but also that the daughter would like. I used to babysit the daughter so I know her well.

(fyi: she probably spends about $40-$50 on my daughter).

Incredibly rude. Unbelievable really.

I would stick to what you have bought. It sounds like something the child will like, and is within your budget.

You've bought the gift your DD is going to give to her friend. And you know the friend will enjoy the gift and be appreciative.

Ignore the mother. She can suggest all she likes, she can't force anyone to buy anything.

And it's irrelevant how much the other mother spends. That's her choice. And for all you know, she could have bought everything on sale. Who knows, who cares?

Rude, and off-putting.

You've got a gift that you know your DD's friend will love. Ignore the mother.

I think she sounds quite rude.

I wouldn't worry about buying anything extra. Just tell the mum that you have already gotten her DD a present if she suggests more things to you.

The fembos go so overboard.
I feel sorry for her daughter, but I would drop that friendship like a hot potato.

Very, very rude.

Can she not afford to provide for her own child?
