Okay. The company I work for is in the fitness industry so most of our customer base is under 35. The majority are probably 18-25. One of the managers (actually the owner's wife), as part of her role, writes our Facebook posts.

Her last few posts have been a bit and I struggle to understand how she thinks her posts are acceptable on a business page.

One of the posts talks about sex and asks if our customers do X Y Z on the weekends. Written along the lines of. "wake up, sex, breakfast, workout. that's how I like to spend my Sat morning. how do you spend yours?". Nothing too dirty, but I just don't think it gives our business a good look iYKWIM? Her other post used the word ****, but written F*%! and used in the first three words of the post. Again I find it a bit off putting for a business page.

So WDYT? Would this put you off a business if you saw it on their business page or am I being a fuddy duddy? The other managers and I are racking our brains trying to figure out a way to approach her about this, but as she is the owner's wife we are trying to do it delicately.

I've had a browse through the T&Cs of Facebook, but there isn't anything that says your can't swear.

She sounds very immature. Perhaps when I was 18 it might have appealed. But by the time I was 21, I would start think it was unprofessional.

Well perhaps I'm a fuddy duddy but i think its completely unprofessional.

Despite being advised by many young maketing people to put my business on Facebook, I am still of the belief that being on Facebook AT ALL in my indsutry looks unprofessional and frivolous

I'm in the 'it's unprofessional' camp.

I would be turned off by status updates like that and wouldn't join that gym/health club.

Seem people do love a good over share on FB....


Btw: I am under 35 and when not pregnant, love going exercise. This would definitely make me less likely to join.

Unprofessional, FB is akin to advertising for a business, it is not just chatting to your mates, but promoting your brand, so I think you need to think about what you post and is it creating the image you want.

Would they put that in paid advertising on the radio or television? If not, then is should not be on fb either IMO. It would put me off, and I would find it very unprofessional.
