probably a stupid question but...
I've found a couple of things quite cheap on Amazon, but nothing seems to ship to Aus! I've never used Amazon before, am i doing something wrong? Do i need to select a country or something? It seems the only way is to add the item to your cart then go through the checkout process to select your shipping address before you know if it can be shipped or not? eeek! what am i missing?? |

Some things won't if the company has asked Amazon not to (like North face clothing)
you can use a freight forwarding company to ship it to you though. I personally like priceusa.com but there are lots out there. |

Yep ive used a forwarding company before, but im just wondering about amazon for now. I always hear people talking about how they bought things off Amazon, but i can't find anything that actually ships here, so i'm just a bit confused

Have you tried Amazon UK?
That site allows you to filter your results so you only see the products that can be shipped to Australia, since another user on here pointed that out to me I've switched my shopping to the UK site. |

THings like books or dvds, ive bought legwarmers from them, however I tried to get a toddler nightstand delivered and the seller didnt ship. I dont think its "amazon" per se who determines whether the item ships to Australia, its the individual seller. |

I've also found that if Amazon itself won't ship, sometimes an Amazon marketplace seller may. Still via amazon, just a company separate to Amazon.
SHipping costs can be a big issue, especially for light things in big boxes. Lego, for example, can cots more for shipping than the item price. The UK suggestion is a good one, I now do the same for most things. |

I tried buying something the other day and found that none of the companies listed would ship to Aus.
Oh, one of them did, but quoted me over $800 for shipping of an item weighing maybe 300g (same shape as a book, nothing fancy). I'll have to try Amazon UK - do you have to sign up separately or can you use your amazon.com user ID? This post has been edited by JJ: 14/11/2012, 07:59 AM |

They may ship, but the charges are often more than the item itself. I have been trying for ages to get a KidKraft table for my DD and the item is around $140 but I have been quoted shipping up to $500 from the UK |
