I know - it's minor in the grand scheme of things, but I'm just wondering....

I've started swimming lessons with DS and so I'm fairly new to change room procedures as I normally avoid public change rooms like the plague. But I've noticed a trend and I'm wondering if I'm the odd man out. Where we live it can still be pretty cold, even at this time of year (this week it was 10 degrees) and although the pool is heated, it's pretty cold when you get out. I've noticed so many other parents strip their children off in the change room, then let them sit there naked while mum gets changed and dressed, then gets the kids dressed. The kids are often shivering as they can be sitting there naked for ten minutes before mum directs them to the showers. I stand in my bathers while I get DS warm and dry and then attend to myself. I would have thought that parents would dress their children first and get them warmed up before worrying about themselves?

that's what I do too. Kids come first, otherwise they turn blue! I used to strip off their swimmers at the side of the pool, bundle them up in a towel and then head over to the toilets to do the full change.

Like JRA, I'm glad we are past that too. They still have swimming lessons, but I don't have to get in the pool with them now for their lessons, yay!

I cannot wait for that day! Especially when I don't have to stand in a swimming pool singing songs and blowing bubbles to try and convince DS to copy me!

Arrghh I have not done swimming lessons yet for DD, but I would attend to my child first then me. I would rather me shiver than her because I do not want her to get sick and have a chesty cough.
