I have two SnS Compaqs and recently my DS1 has moved to a new seat. I decided to try my newborn in the compaq (with the insert for baby mode) and my DS3 is too small for the seat, the seat belts are as tight as they go and they are very loose on my DS3.

I haven't used the compaq for a newborn before because my DS2 was around 5 months when we bought these seats. It says on the manual that its suitable from birth and at 8 1/2 pound my newborn isn't a tiny boy, am I missing something? Anyone use this seat for a newborn?

Luckily I have another seat that fits my newborn but it is bulky and the compaq would fit much better.

There is a thin bar at the back that the seat belt needs to go over/or under I can't remember, pretty sure it is over. The straps go through to the back at a the low setting, then over the thin bar and then attache to the buckley bit at the bottom. HTH sorry for the dodgy explanation.

I had the same problem until I realised DH had put it together wrong.

It's supposed to be suitable from 5 pounds from memory so your DS3 should fit with no problems. It sounds like SMOKER has a good explanation. Let us know how it goes as I'd be interested to hear.

I've used this seat for both my boys from newborn, one was 6"11 and one was 7"12. They both fit in absolutely fine.

What SMOKER said sounds like what we did.
