Okay so it's a Samsung galaxy I9000.

My sister dropped it and busted the screen, no touch no image.

It's got way too many of my nephew's photos to just walk away from without a fight. Though it's a real possibility that the screen liquids have fried parts of the drive

Any ideas would be appreciated...

Also, I've managed to get it to start in "broken screen" mode. I can toggle through the menus with the volume buttons and home keys, but can't SEE them. Can someone walk me through from the first menu on hitting home, to toggling the USB link as a mass storage? Think menu, down two, select, down four ... It's the only thing I can think of, it appears too damaged to simply synch.
