Hi,

I've been thinking of changing my private health cover for a while but I find the process of sorting through the options so incredibly tedious that I never manage it.

Currently we have top cover with NIB which is about $130/fortnight. It's too much for what we get and I just found out they don't have a deal with the main pathology place in Canberra now so if I get blood tests etc in hospital I have to pay the gap.

We use dental, chiro and physio a fair bit, and we have a 2 year old and another baby due in January which should be our last.

Anyone have any recommendations?

Use the iselect website.... It helped me cut through the comparison, also it advised us we were eligible for an industry fund RT Health I had never heard of...any transport company even airlines... And I intend to drop obs once this baby is born as that's it which will cut premiums right down.

I was not interested in gym memberships etc as well. So you can tailor more to suit yr needs now.

We are also with GMHBA and very happy. You won't find them on iSelect though because they've stopped paying to advertise there.

This is the government website and should cover all the funds (as PP mentioned iSelect only covers certain funds that pay to advertise there):

http://www.privatehealth.gov.au/

FWIW, we are with Australian Unity, we have never had a problem (and have claimed A LOT), although once this baby is born I will be reviewing my policy options (cutting out obstetrics, fertility treatment etc.)

I used http://www.privatehealth.gov.au/ and found Westfund to be the best value for money.

We switched a couple of years ago and have been happy with the decision.

I used to be with mbf and DH was with medibank, now we have comprehensive family cover and pay less than we did previously.
