So today has me thinking what do other mums of small kids do on stinking hot, disgusting days (like today is forecast to be) in Adelaide? Please dont say the beach! 37deg, strong northerly winds, 2 small kids and a beach is my idea of hell.

Last summer I had a newborn so I didn't do very much but this year with a 3.5yo and 11mo I like to get out of house even if it is just for an hour or so.

Any suggestions? We live just slightly north of the CBD so very central but I probably wouldnt drive too far south or too far north. Also I don't love the heat, I am looking for suggestions out of the house that incorporate airconditioning!

Obahn to TTP; Marion or nth adelaide aquatic centers; Marion shopping centre. Movies (event cinemas are free for under 4s); indoor play cafe (there's one at glenelg, klemzig, golden grove, Christie's beach, newton, mt barker).

Inside playgrounds/cafe - air cond & you get a coffee!!!

Libraries are good too, aircon and entertainment for kids.

Another vote for TTP with indoor playground, then coffee or ice cream and a bit of shopping if kids are cooperative.

Playcentres ot Newton or Klemzig arent too far away. Might try one of thoese.

I wouldn't go to Marion (freakin hate that place for some reason) but TTP isnt too far. We go to Burnside Village a lot when it is hot as you can park undercover and the kids love the pond.

Edited to add......I am right near Nth Adelaide aquatic centre so had thought of that one too.

Guess I wont go to the playground at TTP when DS wakes up...will be chaos there
