My lovely FIL has recently eliminated preservatives from his diet for health reasons. I always make sure we have preservative-free meals when he comes to visit, but there are so many everyday foods which contain preservatives, margarine, wine, bread... I want to surprise him with a package of food he can eat safely, things he might simply be going without, but I need ideas! Today I made a batch of tomato sauce. What else is impossible to bit at the shops, but easily made preservative-free at home?
