> virus protection for macs, have only had pc before

I tried to use avast for the mac, but it doesn't support it. this is what i used for the pc. what virus protection are you using? i would like to use something easy to install, because of my skill levels.

I have used macs since 1991, never used virus protection and never had a virus on the macs, so can't help with software, sorry.

Unlike the MS-DOS and Windows machines in that time......

Of course we all need to take reasonable preacutions, but until it's demonstrated that there is a real risk to the security of Macs, I'm not goign down the anti-virus software path.

This. Have never ever used virus protection on the macs. I know they can get them, but they are very very very rare. I think there has only been one or two viruses created for a Mac in 20+ years.

I have the built-in firewall enabled, but no additional virus software. Never had a problem.
