We're not that hard up in general but I've been a bit surprised by what some people spend in Xmas pressies in some of the other posts.
So what's the total you spend on Xmas pressies minus your dh/dw/dp etc? So your kids, extended family, teachers, friends, friends children etc etc. We have a medium sized family and I've just added up that our gift cost is looking at $3500-4000 But looking at other threads I can see that being a lot higher for some!!! How do people afford Xmas??? |

about $1,000.
We don't have kids, so that is just the extended family. |

Don't have kids so spend about $1000 on other presents. If I added the $3000 I spent on DH last year that would spike it up I guess

I wouldn't have any idea as I start in about June and buy a thing or two each pay and at sales so you don't notice it so much. It would be at least a couple of hundred on each child, though.

This year it will be about $500- combined for our four children, my niece, FIL, (we don't buy our other other parents presents) and maybe my grandmother.
DH has bought me any presents in 8 years so at the moment my attitude towards buying him a present is 'he can go and get stuffed'. |

All up I would say about $1000.
DD gets the majority spent on her, DH & I about $200 max all up & another $200 max on the extended family. |
